On tap at the brewery.
This was poured into a tulip.
The appearance was a stiff burnt semi-hazy yellow sort of color with a finger's worth of white foamy head that slid off at a moderate pace. Light stringy lace ran here and there.
The aroma had some lemon sweet to bitter hop components running into some light sweet cantaloupe sweetness. Nice balancing sort of floral hop character. Some breaadiness, light white pepper, and then green pepper.
The flavor was moderately sweet embracing some bitterness from the hops but really came across fairly well balanced. Nice mobile smooth hoppy aftertaste, not too sweet not too bitter.
The mouthfeel was about medium bodied with a fair sessionability about it. Carbonation felt fine. ABV felt fine. Finish was somewhat crisp with the semi-sweet smooth quality rolling along my tongue.
Overall, saison? Yes, I can see it. I could come back to this for me, but also see it as one close to being one of those IPA/saison hybrids.
