Poured into a tulip, the appearance was a hazy burnt yellow paper color with a slim finger's worth of white foamy head that slid off at a moderate pace. Lace ran here and there, somewhat messy.
The aroma had some apricot, vinous character and sweet wood. Slight dried citrus peel with a little bit of lemongrass rounding out the edges nicely.
The flavor was moderately sour with the vinous portions coming about nicely to ride on into the apricot and woody tones. Slight aftertaste of the vinous sour character.
The mouthfeel was about medium bodied with a fair sipping quality about it. Carbonation felt good. ABV felt appropriate. Some pucker but not overbearing, just seemed to be "there." Finish was slightly sour.
Overall, it's a very well done American wild ale well worthy of having again.
