Expect extreme amounts of Galaxy all over the nose with a deeply sunburnt fog, a ton of tropical juice notes ranging from papaya to mango to guava in the mouth, and a finish that dries up and begs for another sip.

Type: 16-oz. can
Reviewed as: New England Double / Imperial IPA
Glass: Firestone 16-oz. Spiegelau IPA glass
Price: $6.49
From: Bottlecraft Beer Shop in San Diego, Calif. (Liberty Station)
Purchased: July 31, 2021
Consumed: Aug. 7, 2021
Misc.: Canned on July 14, 2021
Picked up four different beers from Bottlecraft while in Liberty Station. Obviously Humble Sea does some of the best hazies out there and I particularly like their boozier ones. Untappd description read “Expect extreme amounts of Galaxy all over the nose with a deeply sunburnt fog, a ton of tropical juice notes ranging from papaya to mango to guava in the mouth, and a finish that dries up and begs for another sip” Hops mentioned were Citra and Galaxy.
Poured a medium yellow-to-light golden hazy color with 5-to-6 fingers of rocky white head. Could see just a few bubbles coming up along the sides of the glass. Almost perfect foamy spiderweb lacing. Almost perfect foamy retention. (Sight - 4.75)
Smelled pretty damn good right away, getting both Citra and Galaxy in order, but pretty even. Also grapefruit, lemon zest, passion fruit, papaya, peach, nectarine, mango and guava. Just as good from the can. (Smell - 4.25)
Taste wasn’t quite as good as the nose but still solid. In order got Citra, Galaxy, grapefruit, lemon zest, passion fruit, papaya, peach, nectarine, mango and guava. (Taste - 4.00)
Medium body. Creamy texture. Average carbonation. Long, juicy finish. (Feel - 4.25)
Just a great beer. I definitely underrated it overall. (Overall - 4.25)
