Such a great taste. I showed up for another beer they offer. Ended up drinking the Robot fish and it's another top beer of mine.

Picked this up a year ago at KCBC, having this tonight as I'm winding down the process of going through my stash from them. This might have been the best of the Robot Fish beers that I've had from them as this was quite smooth in body while being bold and bright in flavor at the same time. Toss in a relatively low amount of alcohol and the end result was a beer that rated among their better offerings!
Not a bad pour to this as the liquid was cloudy, golden, and muted - which was to be expected for something of this sort. Lots of head topped this off as it was nearly perfect once it settled down; holding it's own for quite a while. Lots of onion, garlic, dank herbs, and cabbage in the understated nose as they all shone through in the taste. A good amount of bready and crystal-like malt gave this a ton of body as the muted tropical notes and dank, citrus undertone had me hooked from the get-go. To have something transition from tropical to vegetal in each sip would not be an easy feat but somehow, this beer did it without seeming fake or concocted. The dank mouthfeel tied everything in together and combined with the full body, resulted in a beer that gave me plenty to chew on - literally and proverbially.
This felt stronger than it was in actuality, as the flavors came across as quite potent. Some booze was on my breath when I finished this off but by no means was this too strong in that department. Dated 12/18 of last year on the bottom of the can with "BONE FISHIN'" written above it, this was fun stuff that had me wishing for iterations of Robot Fish. Sure. the label was great but this stuff on the inside of the can was just as impressive, as it easily tied the Vienna and Galaxy together. Nice job all-around!

Terrific smash IPA, a big fluffy cap of white foam and tons of lacing remaining on the glass. Lively carbonation makes for a crisp drinking medium bodied feel. Galaxy is put in relief beautifully, all of its tropical fruit notes and subtler grassy, oniony underpinnings supported nicely by the clean and crackery Vienna malt. Fairly low bitterness, only just present and keeping this from being sweet or overtly juicy. Highly enjoyable.

Quick train review here.
DDH Yeah Buddy aside, this is the best IPA I've had from KCBC. My first SMASH from them and the Vienna and Galaxy work wonderfully together. Tropical fruit juiciness and some more dank and green notes. Sweet bready note from the Vienna. I usually don't like SMASH beers because from my experience they can be quite weak and unbalanced. The ingredients in this beer create a lot of flavor and meld nicely.
