Can from Dave, I think, thanks!
Hazy grapefruit yellow in color with a bubbly white head that dissipates quickly. Earthy light pine with bits of citrus and lightly fruity. Sweet bready malt backs it up. Pretty good beer.

A: Pours a golden orange color with 2 fingers of head that fades down to a nice cap that leaves good lacing

S: Citrusy and floral hops with some earthy undertones. Some bready malt in there as well

T: Follows the nose. Starts off with the citrusy and floral hops along with the earthy undertone. Moderately bitter. Malt does a nice job balancing things out. Finishes with lingering citrus

M: Medium bodied with moderate carbonation

O: A solid IPA that is super easy to drink. Definitely differentiates itself from the other DIPAs and IPAs from the brewery

Look - poured from a 16 oz can into an IPA glass. Lemon yellow and cloudy, with a beautiful three finger head with excellent retention. A beautiful looking beer.
Smell - pine resin, strong earthiness and citrus undertones. Fairly strong woodsy scent, but not in a bad way.
Taste - a blast of hops from the very beginning that resonates from start to finish. The finish of the beer, however, is not quite satisfying, and leaves just a little bit of void that doesn't quite hit the spot. Not as well balanced as some of the other beers from The Alchemist.
Feel - medium bodied, below average carbonation, and fairly high ABV for an American IPA at 7.7%. Alcohol is well detectable.
Overall - this is a solid IPA, but definitely not the best of the best from The Alchemist. An extraordinary brewery, so the standards here are higher than others.

DATE: September 14, 2018... OCCASION: bathroom primed--time for another of Jeff's friendly Vermont gifts... GLASSWARE: Duvel tulip... pours from a sixteen-ounce can a half-glass of dense, murky orange body that teems with bubbles upon close inspection... its head is a magnificent four-fingered clump of thickness that holds resiliently to its height... immediate scents of horse blanket, Granny's coal basement, dank hops wrestling with malty oats and cereal grains--winning some, losing some, but twisting lemon, grapefruit, and earthy resin out of that density... brewer John Kimmich said they wanted this to straddle the space between an IPA and a double IPA, and one can feel the breaking point in the teeth, with a juiciness that resonates and coats, but doesn't overpower... in fact, sipping or swigging, this seems at home, leaving a puckering draw that imparts its flavors generously--and what a lingering sensation it leaves!... the pub floor flavor pervades, with the dank malts and sweet resins dancing in time, balancing each other out while grapefruit, orange, melon, light spiciness from the cereal malts, and a tobacco graininess up the ante on its complexity... needless to say, a light heavyweight--or a heavy middleweight--of a beer, one distinguished beyond HT and FB, and though it outstrips neither in overall effect, this could be its own go-to, given its profile and well-situated ABV...
