Globe Theatre is our spontaneously fermented ale that sets the stage for the most exalted sugar'd orb. This 2019 harvest vintage features Western NY Verdejo grapes, which underwent a two week maceration and refermentation before further aging in a second-use Oloroso sherry butt.

2019 vintage
Pours a light fizzy bubbly head with low retention, mostly clear golden honey color
Nose lots of funk, wild fermentation with some bacteria souring, acetic acid sourness and fruity, a bit of grape skin and wine, hint of berry and strawberry even, mild buttery oak
Taste starts quite sour, more of the bacteria souring funk, acetic acid, some barnyard funk, fair fruity with more of the wine and grape skin notes but not much tannin, light buttery oak, juicy berry fruit again a hint of strawberry, some fleshy stone fruit, finishes flemmy and acidic
Mouth is med to lighter bod, big acidity with a sharp bite and med prickly carb
Overall quite nice, a great big sour, although maybe a touch thin
