Collaboration with 3 Sons Brewing.
Infinite Fractal is our latest collab with our homies from Dania Beach, Florida. Much like our friendship over the years, this fractal showcases similar patterns across different scales. They are created by repeating a simple process over and over in an ongoing feedback loop. Driven by recursion, fractals are images of dynamic systems of bonds that constantly renew, just like us.
Infinite Fractal starts off with a base of oats and wheat and uses some of our favorite hops. Infinite Fractal pours a bright hazy yellow an aroma of fresh citrus zest. Super creamy and delicate, we get flavors of dank orange, lemon and lime sports drink, and touch of earthy pine that builds up into a beautiful #EQjuice finish.

It’s kind of grimy, but it is kind of satisfying. It like drinking a muddy brew that has a satisfying finish. Very good!

16oz can served in a big snifter. Dated 09/01/20.
Pours a hazy pale yellow with a smallish head. Smell is tropical fruit juice. Maybe some noticeable booze.
Taste is very tropical juice with a strong hop resin finish. I get the dankness and the lemon lime they mention in the beer description. It's not a super delicate finish to me, but it's interesting.
Mouthfeel is medium to thick, fluffy and soft. With a drying resinousness at the end. Overall, it's a good beer.

16oz "pounder" can
Very hazy, almost chunky. Smells and tastes green, like the can. There is a ton of vegetal flavor, culminating in some onion and garlic (!)
worthwhile

$5.49 USD plus tax at a beer store in New Orleans, LA. 16 fl oz pull-tab. There's no canned on date on the can, but it just came in today so I can be sure it's as fresh as possible.
8% ABV. "Double India Pale Ale."
Pulpy and brightly citrusy, hitting on fresh orange juice, tangerine, mango, clementine, lime, and zest. Hints of papaya come through, but I wouldn't call its fruitiness tropical in comparison to many (if not most) of the imperial IPAs hitting the market these days. Impressively well balanced, never revealing its 8% ABV.
Could be more pungent hopwise with better depth of hop flavour. Maltwise, I get 2-row, wheat, and that's it. No oat-like flavour here, but it does have a smooth texture I'm sure the oats are aiding with. Wet, refreshing despite its high ABV, well carbonated, and soft enough to be approachable.
At the end of the day, its hop profile doesn't dazzle, and I do think their insistence on brewing this in accordance with the turbid IPA tradition (read: trend) has hurt it, but it has an appealing juiciness to it. Not a beer I'd shell out $5.49 USD a can for again, nor is it comparable to Equilibrium's best efforts, but I'm glad I got to try it and it's easily above average.
