a subtle but weird in a good way saison that i think might be lost on the boise crowd a little bit, yet here it is on tap at a craft bar in town, cool to see, but even the staff didnt quite get it, glad i encountered this though, distinctive and good, neat ferment on it, and very drinkable, more spring than winter, which is lasting forever, but never mind that. blonde with the faintest haze, real light in the glass under a pretty active inch if airy but bubbly white head, looks belgian and almost overly excited. this is dry hopped with strata, hence the name, and its pretty apparent in the nose, which is fresh to me despite some well developed bretty funk, almost fantome-like, a high compliment, tangy and lemony, but also just light barley malt and hay and straw before the coconut and key lime and lushness of the strata, well dosed and not out of balance, lemony, clean against the funky, and the whole thing smells majorly dry. some white wine notes in the flavor, light wild bretty character, to me insanely in the background, like i almost dont even taste that until i already swallow it, its a comeback thing, really dry and mature to me, a neat contrast to the freshness the strata hops bring, white coconut, green melon, and canned fruit cocktail to me there, white wheat and pils malt character at the core i reckon, but its crazy light and i actually dont taste a ton of malt in this, more earthy and raw actually. cold green table grapes, lemongrass, white tea, and dried flowers before the funk and soft tartness, absolutely quick to finish and champagne-like on the carbonation. neat beer overall, perhaps a little bit of a line pour muting some elements here but i liked it anyway, looks like they bottle it and i would love to try it in that format, cool hop complexion from the strata, really dug this! havent had a ton of this kind of thing from these guys, but its all been good despite them being know for the ipa types!

Despite not being known as a farmhouse brewery by any means, the first beer I actually reviewed from Equilibrium was a Saison, and it still stands as one of my favorites of theirs. So naturally I have pretty high hopes for this one, though I am a bit concerned with the age but I'm sure it'll still be good. Let's crack it open and find out
Pours a hazy yellow gold with 2 fingers of soapy white head that slowly fades to a thin ring and leaves minimal lacing
Oh yeah, this is nice and sharp in the nose, a welcome surprise for a nearly 2 year old bottle. I'm picking up on aromas of lemon zest, wet hay, tannic white wine, biscuity malt, white pepper, grassy hops, apple skin, old leather, and light strawberry
It takes a more mellow approach in taste but this is still damn good. On the front end of the sip I'm tasting lemon verbena, white grape, grassy hops, wildflower honey, straw, bready malt, apple skin, and pear. The swallow brings notes of lemon zest, white pepper, straw, biscuity malt, grassy hops, light pineapple, and white grape
A medium body pairs with gentle carbonation, resulting in a smooth beer. Finishes a tad sticky but dries out quickly
Oh yeah, this one is awesome. Even for a 2 year old dry hopped Saison

375ml bottle. No dating information found.
Clouded by the dregs, with a pale gold colored body. Brief high energy head results in a bubbly cap. No lacing.
Aroma yeast funk - leather and tobacco. Oak and some fruity hops.
Taste is funky saison hopped up with lemon, orange, and touch of tropical fruits. Funk is grass and hay.
Medium mouth feel. Drying and bright at the same time. Fizzy in the mouth. Good carbonation.
Almost seems to be a blend pour of two different beers than a brewing exercise. Certainly has a taste profile not often encountered.

Draft at Carmine street beers. Surprise beer of the day, citrus forward farmhouse with very low level of tartness. Lime zest on the nose, taste is more of the same with some orange

From a 365 ml bottle dated 10/21. Sampled May 15, 2022.
The look is about what one should expect in the style with a slightly cloudy yellow appearance underneath a lingering white head.
Inviting aromas of toasted bread, hay, grass, grain, apple, pear, overripe fruit, and maybe some Brett.
Light-medium mouthfeel.
The flavor is most definitely tart and fruity with a grassy background and mild to moderate dry finish. Decently done.
