Collaboration with Southern Grist Brewing Company

Control Loops starts with a base of 2-row, flaked oats, and flaked wheat. A whirlpool of our hand selected Citra kicks off the hop bill before a massive dry hop of Motueka, Galaxy and Strata.

Control Loops pours glowing yellow with an aroma of orange slices, ruby red grapefruit and complex berry. Flavors of dank mango, light refreshing melon, and lemon and lime wedges are met with an earthy and dank tropical grass note finishing with our #EQjuice finish and balanced bitterness to tie everything together.

Equilibrium with Southern Grist.

Pours a pale yellow with an opaque translucency. Head is three fingers of white foam. Aroma is papaya, grapefruit, dank, and grass. It's hearty forest meeting up with tropical fruit. Flavor profile is papaya, grapefruit, and lemon zest for citrus hop notes. Grass and mild pine add some stickiness and oomph behind the citrus. More tropical fruits in the flavor than the nose. Sticky yeast spice at the end. Mouth feel is medium in thickness. Texture has a soft grit to it. Overall, pretty alright.

Served in a 15.5oz Spiegelau tulip from a 16oz can. Reviewed from notes.

On tap at Jaxson’s/Barrel & Stave in Fullerton, CA.
Yellow to gold swirl of haze pumps a milky, lithe fluff. Great retention and lacing.
Nose is a tempting mix of orange cream, mango, guava all floating on a creamy oat cloud.
Flavor goes even further. Lush in delivery. Creamy, mildly sweet, with a delectable fruit fluff of orange, mango, lime, apricot, and wet grass.
Mouthfeel is fluffy and damn near perfect.

16oz can. Poured out a clear, golden orange color with a small, white head of foam. It left sudsy rings of lace on the glass. It smelled of grapefruit, orange, guava and caramel. Sweet tropical fruit taste with toasted caramel and a sharp, piney bitterness.

IPA - Imperial / Double New IPA

Oooh weee, flaked adjunct of wheat and oats done right! Smooth and earthy dry tones everywhere. The hops are candy fruity with lemon and a tangy citrus bite. Dry and smooth to boot. Deep flavor and robust mouthful is top shelf stuff.

Canned 2/24/23 (2.5 months ago)

Appearance: Pours a completely hazy (5% clarity) light and pale orange-golden to peach color with a strong white head. SRM of 6-7. (4.00)

Aroma: Strong aromas of pineapple, tropical mango, sweet berries.

Flavor: Strong flavors of citrus, right pineapple, mango flesh, with a light guava and lime note. Some hints of apricot underneath. Dry and clean.

Feel: Medium to heavier bodied, strong carbonation. Yeasty, and relatively dry and clean. (4.25)

Compared to EQ mc2 5/2023: Pours lighter and more pale, similar aromas and flavors overall.

Overall: A good collab with Southern Grist. Classic EQ flavors. Yeasty and leans dry. Dangerously drinkable for the 8.5%, but almost too clean. Lacks the EQ juiciness flavor, but otherwise very good. (Rating: 4.11)

I got a can of this beer off the single shelf from my local beer store located just around the corner. It poured a smoothie hazy golden with thin white head that is leaving some lace. The scent had pineapple and other tropical fruit peel notes. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with sweet malt base and tropical fruit medley presence. The mouthfeel was medium in body and had good carbonation. Overall it is a solid beer.

16 oz. Can
Canned On: 01/05/22

Poured into a Tree House glass a very nice cloudy pale yellow color, very nice carbonation, with a very nice thick/creamy one-finger plus off-white head, which also leaves a pretty nice medium size island, and some pretty nice thick creamy sticky lacing behind. The nose is hoppy, malty, with a very nice citrus complex (oranges, tangerines, pineapple, grapefruit, papaya, mango, nectarines, peach, melon, lemon, lime), very nice diesel like. The taste is very nice, hoppy, malty, with a very nice citrus complex (oranges, tangerines, grapefruit, papaya, pineapple, mango, nectarines, peach, melon, lemon, lime), very nice diesel like, nice little sweetness. Medium body, ABV hidden very well, with a nice dry/bitter finish. Overall, this is a very tasty beer. MilkShake! Orange Julius! Addictive!

Pours a hazy orange with a small frothy head and moderate lacing.

Smells of slightly dank floral hops with some citrus.

Tastes of slightly tart grapefruit, sweeter orange and lemon with a slightly bitter finish.

Medium body with light carbonation. Smooth clean mouthfeel.

This is a very drinkable, juicy NEIPA balanced with a mild mannered bitterness.
