Middletown Mud Pie puts our own spin on this classic southern dessert. After a long boil, we took our latest imperial stout and conditioned it on pecans, cacao nibs, Madagascar vanilla, and a hint of sea salt. Middletown Mud Pie pours like liquid fudge and features a beautiful mocha cap. The chocolate brownie batter nose pairs with flavors of melted milk chocolate fountains, nutty butter pecan, caramel swirl, and frosted black forest cake loaded with homemade frosting.Layers of this liquid dessert are complemented with a hint of salinity to enhance the flavors throughout each layer of this decadent treat.

Pours a pure black in the glass with mahogany on the edges, and a creamy dark tan head that sticks around a bit. Beautiful imperial stout.
The nose is pure dessert stout, with rich milk chocolate and vanilla allowing a nice bit of nuttiness and especially marshmallow to shine. No real sign of the sea salt.
Thankfully, the sea salt is present on the taste, at the back of the palate, balancing the sweetness of the milk chocolate, vanilla, and marshmallow (which was the star for me) along with the pecan flavor. Absolutely delicious.
The mouthfeel is full, rich, and creamy in this world class imperial dessert stout. Equilibrium rocks.

Amazing stout. The sweetness from the marshmallows come through as the flavor of pecans. I also get some liquid chocolate and caramel. Medium body with a lingering sticky aftertaste. Overall great beer.
