King AL uses a mashed-up grain bill from MC² and Toppling Goliath’s King Sue before introducing Equilibrium’s absolute biggest dry-hop to date with an all Citra Incognito, Citra LUPOMAX, Citra Cryo and Citra T-90 hop bill. Pouring a milky opaque yellow with aromas of mango sorbet and orange creamsicle, we get chewy saturated flavors of tropical smoothie, fresh squeezed navel orange juice, dank grass, fruit salad in syrup and lime gummies with a thick and custard like creamsicle finish and a huge blast of EQjuice rainbow melon flavors. King AL is dangerously soft and smooth and may have you questioning the laws of physics, space, time or just how we got a melted orange creamsicle fruit bomb into the can.

Stopped over to Windmill Farms after work for a 6-pack of Aurora Hoppyalis and saw this can, so I instantly picked it up. Untappd description was “King AL uses a mashed-up grain bill from MC² and Toppling Goliath’s King Sue before introducing Equilibrium’s absolute biggest dry hop to date with an all Citra Incognito, Citra LUPOMAX, Citra Cryo, and Citra T-90 hop bill. Poured a bright light golden hazy color with five fingers of rocky white head. Could see plenty of bubbles coming up along the sides of the glass at different speeds. World-class uneven spiderweb foamy lacing. Almost perfect foamy retention. (Sight - 4.75)

Smelled big Citra, Fruity Pebbles cereal, passion fruit, Mountain Dew, mango, grapefruit, orange juice, mixed fruit cup, orange creamsicle and white gummi bear candy. Just as good from the can. (Smell - 4.25)

Tasted even better than the nose. In order got Citra, Fruity Pebbles cereal, passion fruit, Mountain Dew, grapefruit, orange juice, mixed fruit cup, mango, orange creamsicle, white gummi bear candy and lemon-lime zest. (Taste - 4.50)

Medium body. Creamy texture. Lively carbonation. Long, smooth finish. (Feel - 4.75)

Damn. I wanted to knock this one a little bit but it was so damn good. Just a fantastic beer. (Overall - 4.50)

Appearance: Pours a completely hazy (5% clarity) Medium to deep and bright orange color with a strong and foamy white head. SRM of 7. (4.50)

Aroma: Moderately strong aromas of orange and mango. Orange creamsicle, mango cream with hints of vanilla from the oat and grains. (4.25)

Flavor: Strong and creamy flavors of orange, orange creamsicle with some tropical mango underneath, but doesn't quite develop. An oat malt body for a rich and creamy finish.(4.25)

Feel: Medium-bodied appropriate carbonation and finish is smooth and creamy. (4.25)

Overall: This one drinks just as described with the King Sue Citra hop flavors mixed with the EQ MC2 malt body. Sort of like orange citra meets creamy mango malt. Combine for a definite orange creamsicle flavor. Creamy and smooth, however i think each of the respective beers drink better on their own. This was one creative collaboration and may be one of the greatest NEIPA collabs of all time. (Rating: 4.27)

Look: very hazy golden/amber, with a big slightly fluffy head

Aroma: mango, grapefruit, pineapple

Flavor: It is juicy, fruity and bitter. I can taste mango, grapefruit, pineapple, and then there is a grapefruit rind bitterness at the end.

Body/overall: medium body, delicious

A 1 pint can, with no clear canned on or best before date. Poured into a winebar glass.

Appearance: A hazy milky orange colour with a one finger white head that had excellent retention and left lots of nice lacing.

Aroma: Creamsicle, orange zest, tangerine, mango, with notes of pineapple.

Taste: Mango, orange, creamsicle, a touch of grass, and a lasting melon finish.

Mouthfeel: Medium bodied with moderate carbonation.

Overall: I love the creamsicle notes which really makes it for me. Easy to drink with enjoyable flavours.

There’s a lot going here. The color is interesting, it’s a pale murky yellow with tons of white foam with excellent retention. Smell is mango, pineapple, orange, and malt. The taste is punctured by an intense mango sherbert and a medley of fruits like orange, peach, and melon, a strong backbone of oat flavored malt, and a hint of grass and pine. It is bitter but has an offsetting sweetness. Creamy feel. Flavors are intense and mostly enjoyable. Overall it’s a bit much, but high quality.
