Collaboration with J. Wakefield, it pours pitch black color with a 2 finger thick dark brown, chocolate looking foamy head that hissed and faded slowly, leaving minimal lacing but a fair amount of sediment on the glass. Smells of hot fudge, baker’s chocolate, Hershey’s chocolate syrup, dark chocolate, molasses, faint bananas and maple syrup. Tastes like it smells with strong dark chocolate, hot fudge, baker’s chocolate, cocoa powder, Hershey’s chocolate syrup, molasses, espresso beans, vanilla, banana, maple syrup, charred wood or smoked grains, a hint of coconut and brown sugar. Not much resemblance to a regular stout, this is more like a very rich chocolate protein drink. The body is as thick as a shake, with a creamy feel that hides the ABV and seems like an oil slick is left after it goes down. Overall way too sweet for me to revisit but it was an interesting stout.
