16 ounce can, no date seen. Can only assume it's fresher. Received in a BIF. Poured into tulip.
This beer pours a brilliant orange, just as orange as the can itself. Hazy. Orange tinted white head of 1 finger that leaves some curtains of lacing. Juicy tangerine and mandarin orange on the nose. The taste is pine forest first, then candied orange, orange pith and boozy with a taste reminiscent of triple sec. Some alcohol heat on the finish lets you know this is a big beer. Hoping for a fluffier mouthfeel but medium bodied with just enough carbonation to wash it down.

Poured from the can into a Spiegelau IPA glass.
Dark orange body color, not really hazy at all, but solidly opaque but very dark. That's a plus to my eyes. Head is off white, slightly tan with a three finger controlled head, lacking cream, but has very strong solid retention.
Large blasting controlled hops for the aroma. Juicy somewhat, but plays for simpler and more familiar territory. Good touches of citrus orange, maybe even a bit of zesty notes in there, and more of a green herbal character as well. Luckily not boozy hinting either, and quite controlled. Very good.
Palate is quite simple, but just good and enjoyable. Quenching slightly orange juicy fruit, but with more of a tolerable Orange Crush like flavor. Sweetness is not overbearing, noticeable, but is balanced by a bit of an herbal finish. Not much of a chewy malt depth, but quite impressive supportive backbone that isn't caramel sugary, and more so not horribly alcohol boozy and sweet. Very clean and fruity as well, but with a slow stomach warmth that creeps up.
Very impressive alcohol control at this large abv, but it creeps up. This however not something NE-IPA fans will gravitate too, but it does have a wonderful big and rich orange citrus quality.

Pounder can into a tulip appears hazy orange with a white cap that fades leaving spotty lace.
Aroma is stinky cheese, slight fruity nuance and alcohol.
Tastes fruity with alcohol backing and caramel malt. A bit of vegetative feel on this one that im not crazy about.
Medium to fuller bodied and moderately carbonated. My least favorite offshoot beer tried thus far.
