Some say tomato, some say tomahto. But you can't say Ne-Vah-duh. No way, not never. It’s Ne-VAD-A! Vă-da (Like this beer is rad-a) is a hazy DIPA, packed full of Nelson Sauvin and Vic Secret hops that provide flavors and aromas reminiscent of lychee, gooseberry and a touch of earth, layered over a pillowy mouthfeel.

Really didn’t expect this beer being so bitter. At only 30 IBUs, it tastes more like 2x that. Average to below average for me from Revision. Always expect perfection from this brewery. Had to wash the bitterness out of my mouth with my Revision fav Planetary Fog.

16 oz can from Brewers Haven. Very pale yellow, hazy, milky body, small tight foamy head. Aroma is light citrus elements, grassy, floral. Taste starts sweet, then offers a very gentle bitterness, and what serms like some milk sugar. Light notes of floral and handsoap.

I had to go to California to get Vada. Wussup w dat? Seriously, I don't think this was available in Nevada.

Pours a hazy blonde yellow color with 2/3" dense white head and good retention. I usually am kinda meh on hazy appearances but occasionally they can be relatively impressive as here and a few other examples. Elevating itself beyond that mere slight backhand compliment, you have a beautiful dank down under expression of the Nelson Sauvin hop. Where things get atypical is the bright fermenting pineapple note typically associated with Galaxy hops, for which there are none in this beer. Whatever the source, I certainly don't get that from Vic Secret typically, which is in this beer. Either way, it is nice.

Taste is pretty good, you know there are millions of double ipas these days that are super delicious and crush-ably awesome at making 8+% go down effortlessly. This has enough bitterness and barley body to keep the mouth feel from feeling trubby, flabby or watery. I'm disappointed I've never seen Vada in Nevada. Crank it up fuckers.

Tasted in a Spiegelau IPA glass from a one pint can on November 10, 2019. Brewed with Nelson Sauvin and Vic Secret hops. Notes of lychee, gooseberry and a hint of earth. Pillowy mouthfeel.

Packaged on September 13th, consumed on December 14th. Poured from a tall-boy can into my Bruery tulip.

Thick, turbid jasmine body with two fingers of soapy ivory foam up top. Dense tendrils of rocky lacing; excellent retention.

Citrus, passion fruit, kiwi, and low herbal and melon (or pineapple?) notes in the nose.

Lovely palate entry is tropical with hints of wild honey, leading into a smooth moderate bitterness receding into a spicy not-quite-woodsy finish. Really nice evolution of flavors, with some malt character as well. The two hops play compliment each other, and provide plenty of interest without an overwhelming the senses.

Soft, pillowy, medium-bodied mouth-feel. Well carbonated with the faintest touch of heat from the alcohol.

Very good (almost fantastic) offering from Revision - and a thoughtful presentation of these hops.

Thanks, Bill & Kristine!

Got this from Bill and Kristine on their recent trip to San Diego. Hadn’t seen this one in San Diego yet, so was excited to get to try it. Can called for, “Some say tomato, some say tomahto. But you can't say Ne-Vah-duh. No way, not never. It’s Ne-VAD-A! Vă-da (Like this beer is rad-a) is a hazy DIPA, packed full of Nelson Sauvin and Vic Secret hops that provide flavors and aromas reminiscent of lychee, gooseberry and a touch of earth, layered over a pillowy mouthfeel.” I’m a big fan of Nelson, but really do not like Vic Secret. This will be an interesting neutralizer of hops for me.

Poured a medium yellow hazy color with 5-to-6 fingers of rocky white head. Lots of bubble streams creeping up along the sides of the glass at different speeds. Almost perfect foamy uneven lacing. Perfect retention. (Sight - 5.00)

Smelled pineapple, grapefruit, tangerine, orange, passion fruit, papaya, herbal and wet grass. Could pick out Nelson and Vic Secret too. Big pineapple, tangerine and passion fruit from the can, smelling better than the glass. (Smell - 4.00)

Taste followed the nose for the most part. Got pineapple, tangerine, grapefruit, bitter orange rind, passion fruit, papaya, Vic Secret, Nelson, herbal and wet grass. Not bad for Vic Secret. (Taste - 3.75)

Medium body. Creamy texture. Lively carbonation. Abrupt, dry finish. (Feel - 4.25)

Outstanding beer overall, which is saying something considering my dislike for Vic Secret. (Overall - 4.00)

Moderate haziness with a yellow color. Average white foam in the little tulip and sudsy mouthfeel. Aroma of pine and peach with yeast dregs. Actually it kind of tastes like dirt. Aromatic dirt, but weirdly earthy. The citrus pith also makes an appearance. You might find a bit of papaya somewhere, but it's lost in the astringent gunk.

Drier than most of these New England things, especially for a douple IPA. Very murky in flavor with an unpleasant scratch in the throat. Not finishing this one. From the 16 oz can purchased at Community Co-op in Bellingham.

Can poured into a Mountain Rambler Brewing Co pint glass

A: Pours hazy golden amber with a frothy eggshell white head that settles to a light layer and laces nicely.

S: Bright citrus, tropical and misc fruity notes, slightly resinous and grassy, biscuity malt, and light caramel sweetness.

T: Resinous, citrus, big ripe grapefruit plus some zesty lemon and lime, fruity notes, passion fruit, apricot, gooseberry, white grape, and a hint of papaya, grassy herbal notes, biscuity malt, and light caramel sweetness.

M: A touch on the fuller side of medium body, moderate carbonation, soft on the palate. Alcohol is pretty well hidden.

O: Kinda torn on this one. It's good, but I don't feel like either hop really shines like I know they can.

Drank from a pint can bought at Whole Foods in Chicago. Date was about a month ago, IIRC. Solid NEIPA, maybe a little thin on the tongue instead of the creamy, pulpy feel. Otherwise the 8.5 is well hidden.

Poured from a can -murky and hazy like unfiltered citrus juice with big frothy white head. Nose is citrus fruit and such ,taste follows more or less. It's Revision through and through, though maybe not my favorite. Tasty none the less.

my draft pour of this must not have been fully fresh. its supposed to be nelson and vic secret, two hops i get hard for, but neither of them present themselves as obvious to me in this, and while it looks luscious, all pale and whitewashed and simple and frothy, it doesnt really pop with these hops as i know them, and thats a let down. it smells and tastes a little dusty, although still real clean on the fermentation and hop driven, just less specific than it ought to be for whats in it, at least by the very standards that these guys have set with their other beers. i will not say which boise bar i had this at, as i have had similarly muted hop experiences here before, so maybe they are more at fault here than the beer, but this doesnt show me much nelson or aussie goodness. some hints of pineapple and passion fruit here, and even a little yeast thing, but this is unexciting beer, as alcoholic as it is flavorful, and really one of the less impressive things i have had from these guys, but given the brewer and the hops in it, i am reluctant to write it off as average, and instead think i need to find it at a different establishment or score a can. this cant be as muted as it seems here, still good, but i bet its best it leagues in front of my current drink...
