Type: 16-oz. can
Reviewed as: American Lager
Glass: Burgeon .5L pilsner glass
Price: $1.99
From: Windmill Farms in Del Cerro (San Diego), Calif.
Purchased: June 11, 2021
Consumed: June 12, 2021
Misc.: Canned on April 25, 2021

Went to Windmill Farms to grab some stuff for Chad and $113 later I had way too much beer. Had been waiting for this Revision beer to hit the San Diego market and finally it is. Not too bad of a price either ($1.99) at Windmill Farms. Revision’s website called “A lager born of reverence for tradition and the desire to drink something crisp. German malts, hops, yeast, and patience create an easy-drinking lager for anyone to enjoy, anytime.”

Poured a medium-yellow clear color with 2-to-3 fingers of frothy off-white head. Plenty of bubble streams coming up from the bottom and sides of the glass at different speeds. Excellent watery lacing. Decent retention. (Sight - 4.00)

Smelled corn, white bread, dry grass, Noble hops, cereal, floral and hints of honey. Just as good from the can. (Smell - 4.25)

Tasted even better than the nose. In order got white bread, dry grass, Noble hops, corn cereal, floral, sweet grain, pear, apple and black peppery spice. (Taste - 4.50)

Light body. Oily-to-thin texture. Lively carbonation. Clean, crisp finish. (Feel - 5.00)

Just a terrific lager. Oh my. And for $1.99 a can at Windmill Farms I might go back and buy every single one in the place tomorrow. (Overall - 4.50)

Decent, soapy head. Smells very doughy, very wheat cracker. Taste is similar. Cracker malt, sweet bread dough with a slight sour note, a bit of hops. Nothing fancy, not bad, not great. Wouldn’t turn one down, wouldn’t buy it again though.

A nice enough lager with just a little more sweetness from the malt coming through than I personally prefer. I'll certainly revisit again when I see it I'm sale if its fresh.

16oz can best by 3-5-21. Opened 11-16-20.
1 finger white head, retains well at 1/2".
Straw gold and crystal clear. Good lacing.
Sweet malt, honey, sourdough, light floral hop spice.
Toasted grain, light bread dough and sweet cereal. Firm herbal bitterness late.
Light body, medium-low carbonation. Clean with a lingering and slightly sweet finish.
Great drinkability, quaffable from a bug mug with a handle.
Good to Very Good.

Picked up some of these because we all have that/those friends. Sometimes I'm that friend.

Pours the most familiar of all colors to beer, the yellow/gold pour, 1/3" white head and ample clarity. Aroma of cereal grain. Hint of citrus. Mild lager yeast is perceptible.

Taste is almost spot on for Budweiser. Has a little more traditional barley input going for it giving it a slightly bigger heft than say something using rice and corn. Grain pushes the most flavor here, yeast next, the mild hopping still gives off a light grapefruit rind push, but not a problematic level (as if), they know the difference between making 60 different ipas and a couple of lagers. Does provide more than the purported 15ibu. Good dry finish.

Its a pretty good lager for drinking and not thinking. I still have a can or two of it. Might have to crush one this weekend just to make sure I got this review right.

this is great yellow beer for crushing in hot weather, and after being unimpressed with their blonde, i have liked each light beer or lager type i have had from them since. this was exactly what i hoped it would be this weekend, a refreshing wet one to mindlessly drink while i watch hockey. it has some gorgeous clarity, a short lived but high rising white head, lots of bubbles the whole time, and some real character to it as this sort of thing goes. a trace of honey sweetness from the grain in the middle, even kind of rustic there, some cereals to it, maybe a little corn in the mash as well, but this isnt adjuncty or cheap to me at all, its delicious. there arent a lot of hops here, especially by revision standards, but there is a light herbal note to the finish, possibly noble, very much just for balance, and maybe a little modern too with some trace citrus, nicely dosed for what this is. the yeast is great, it has a mild flavor but isnt invisible, and it dries this out really well, tidy and crisp. i like it best when its ice cold, but it did warm up rather well for the style too. i have been loving craft lagers more than ever this summer, and drinking a ton of them. this stands out from the crowd in terms of quality, and while maybe its not as light as some, it certainly is still a quick drinker. maybe the best of the non-ipa beers ive had from these guys.

16 oz can from Hops & Bottles. Golden, clear body, one finger foamy head. First sip and I'm in love. Full grainy, bready aroma, wow! Taste follows with big cereal malt flavors, fresh baked bread. Slippery, slick, creamy mouth feel. This is amazing. I know these guys were masters of the IPA, and this shows they can brew other styles to petfection too. Truly awesome beer.
