Despite having the name of Griset, I agree with styling this as a Saison because, primarily, it made my below average meal better. Subheaded as "Petite Saison", this 4%ABV gently helped me wash down some really dry rice mixed-up as a salad that also lacked much to say for itself.
I bought this can from the brewpub and I will be reviewing others. But this is the first: Griset is a really enjoyable table ale. It Looks appetising with its big, foamy head on an amber body. Smells slip to only slightly above the Saison average, some fruit but not much in this fruity style. Tastes however are well-balanced and still make me salivate from beginning to end of the meal. Medium-mouthed for a table ale.
As for my very good Overall Hugs, that's for Haring. I've given them a Place Review. But in brief, they are spirited and talented and will soon have to reinvent themselves in a new space. Proost !

Draught @ Wild West Brewfest. Pours a hazy pale straw yellow colour and a small white head. Aroma's are fruity and grassy, with additional caramel malt retronasal. Flavour is moderate bitter with light fruity sourness. Light bodied. Finish is rather dry, moderate bitter. Nice and refreshing.
