At my lady Pamela's house; canned and chilled, 473mL in a stein. From my favourite LCBO at Tecumseh Mall in nearby Windsor. My third beer from the Chatham, Ontario brewery, and second for 2025...

473 mL can from the brewery; dated Jul 11 2024 and served slightly chilled. Billed as a "salted lime Mexican-style lager". Love the label design: very classy.
Pours a clear, pale straw yellow colour, briefly topped with an inch of loose, bubbly white head that sizzles away within ninety seconds or so. A sickly-thin collar lives on, but there's little else of interest - no cap, and scant lace production. Mild lemon and lime citrus zest on the nose, with faint whiffs of cereal grain and saltwater. Clean aroma, but very muted.
The malt flavours are quite thin, even for a 4% light beer - thankfully, the lime and sea salt are there to pick up some slack. I'm tasting lime zest & lemon initially, with graininess and sea salt coming through mid-sip. Weakly salty finish with faint lime dissipating into an off-dry aftertaste. Very light in body, with aggressive carbonation that prickles the palate relentlessly throughout the sip; this spritziness works alright with the lime, but makes for a rather bloaty light lager. Average drinkability.
Final Grade: 3.45, a B-. El Camino is no masterpiece, but I'd certainly take it over, say, Bud Light Lime. High praise indeed! In all seriousness, there are a few things about this Sons of Kent Lager that I don't particularly care for - the malt flavour is exceptionally weak, but then again, Mexican lagers don't typically feature a robust malt bill. It's a little overcarbonated, too, but that's more of a minor complaint. Worth a look if you enjoy salty lime-infused beverages.
