ive been seeing quite a bit of harland stuff around town of late, so far ive pretty well liked the ones ive tried, this is summery and unforced on the fruit, natural enough because of the lower dose, and the base beer has just enough personality coming through for this to have the kind of balance i like in fruit beers of this nature. it pours high headed and even over carbonated looking from the head, about as much head as beer all airy and white, im sure my less than super clean glass didnt help, but still, nice and lively, no complaints. the aroma is guava, pils malt, and a bit of generic citrus character, summery and easy, not sweet really at all to me, almost more tangy, really pleasant, apricot is there too, white wine grapes, and white florals, some yeast as well. the flavor is just about identical to the nose, i think the guava leads this. some crackery grain in support of the fruit, a drying back end, definitely new zealand white wine character along with an almost passion fruit twang, some lemon as it warms. i love the high carbonation, i think the mix of fruit is nice and well dosed too, and overall this is modern, crushable fruit beer made with some real intent. enjoyable on one of the first truly nice days of the season. glad to have harland around in the idaho market!

Glass: Pure Project 14-oz. snifter elemental (fire) glass
Price: $3.79

Consumed: Feb. 27, 2022
Misc.: Canned on Aug. 30, 2021
Admittedly I’d been kind of pushing this one off. Not really sure why but hoping it is still in good shape. Bine & Vine’s website called it a “Fruited wheat with pink guava, mango, peach, and apricot. This ale is a fruit salad of sorts, featuring guava, mango, peach and apricot for a fruity and delicious surprise.”
Poured a medium yellow hazy color with 3-to-4 fingers of frothy white head. Could see plenty of bubbles coming up along the sides of the glass. Excellent uneven foamy lacing. Outstanding retention. (Sight - 4.25)
Smelled peach, apricot, mango, guava, pink lemonade, mixed fruit cup, stone fruit and pear. Not quite as good from the can. (Smell - 3.75)
Tasted about as good as the nose, maybe a tad better. In order got peach, apricot, mango, guava, pink lemonade, mixed fruit cup, pear and stone fruit. (Taste - 3.75)
Medium body. Oily texture. Average-to-lively carbonation. Long, juicy finish. (Feel - 4.00)
This was a very enjoyable beer. Glad I bought a can 4 ½ months ago. (Overall - 4.00)
