500 mL can from TBS; dated Jul 7 2023, BB Jul 7 2024 and served slightly chilled.
Pours a foggy pale yellow colour, kicking up an inch of frothy, foamy white head that lasts for two or three minutes. Its remnants include a tight, sudsy collar and filmy cap, with minimal lace production. Enticing citrus aroma with grapefruit soda and lemonade featured prominently; there are also hints of orange juice and lime zest, as well as suggestions of grainy malts.
Tastes like a citrusy soda - the grapefruit and orange are well-represented early on, with lemonade and 7up sweetness taking over on the back end. Sweet aftertaste that lingers on the taste buds momentarily. Light in body, with assertive carbonation reminiscent of an orange soda, as well as some of the associated syrupy-ness (due to the gum arabic/locust bean gum). Drinkable and mildly thirst-quenching; the sweetness encourages you to keep sipping.
Final Grade: 3.62, a B grade. Ottakringer Radler Citrus is serviceable, but it's definitely not a *great* radler. I found the aroma and appearance both above average, while the flavour & especially mouthfeel fell kinda flat. Not as good as the Austrian gold standard (Stiegl Grapefruit), but still pretty serviceable overall - I'd drink it again, and I'd encourage other radler lovers to at least give it a shot.

16oz can. Poured out a pale, straw-yellow color with a small, fizzy, head of white foam. It left no lacing. It smelled of grapefruit, sweet orange and tart lemon. Light and crisp with tart grapefruit and sweet orange.

1 PT 0.9 FL. OZ. can
Served in an imperial pint glass
This beer pours pale yellow. It looks like carbonated lemonade. It is topped with a fleeting head.
Lemon aroma. 7up smell. I get whiffs of a dank smell, too.
Lemon flavor upfront. Soda sweetness. Kind of an off flavor. Like they used a skunked Euro lager to make it.
Thin bodied with a soda-like mouthfeel. Very effervescent
I've had better. The skunky flavor throws the whole thing off.

This Radler does its job. It quenches thirst and cleans the palate without getting too sweet.
Does it do better than its Radler peers? Probably a bit above average.
I like Ottakringer's Radler's Looks, big full foamy head whose bigs bubbles kept bursting for about a minute and filled my nose with the citrus. Taste? Borderline sweet and average.
My first from Ottakringer, their limited marketing strategy reminds me of many a Bavarian family brewery. But this is Vienna and it is on my Bucket List and perhaps I should put Ottakringer's BrauWerks as a stop.

Ottakringer Radler Citrus. 2.1 % alc. Thick white head that evaporated quickly. Beer is hazy and the colour of grapefruit juice. Smell is citrus fruit with a predominant grapefruit and lime profile. This transfers to the taste with light sweet and mildly tart flavour. The mouthfeel is effervescent and juicy. The beer itself is light bodied. Not as tart as some radlers and that is OK.
I like this one and give it a B.

A beer in search of an identity, I think. The mixture of so many fruits just leaves a kind of muddled mess -- lemon and lime with an unfortunate perfumy background. Hardly beer-like at all. Comes across like no name soda. I generally enjoy radlers, this one not so much.
