The original American lager style, invented by German immigrants using the techniques they brought over from European brewing but brewed with the ingredients they had available to them here. Mashed using 100% Tennessee grown pilsner malt and white corn from our friends at Riverbend Malting. Double decocted for a sweet crackery finish. Delicately hopped with German grown Opal, which provides some spicy, herbal notes with a hint of citrus. Wasioto was the original name of the Cumberland River by Shawnee Native Americans, who lived in this area.

16oz can served in a footed pilsner glass. Dated 11/09/2021. Received from @WunderLlama in a kind of ninja strike associated with NBS BIF #14.

Pours crystal clear dark golden with a fairly large head that collapses to a half-millimeter skin, pretty uniform, moderately coarse. Lots of carbonation. Smell is grassy, lemony, and light.

Taste is actually pretty rich -- sweet, grainy, tons of lemon. Fair citrus zest bitter finish.

Mouthfeel is very light, very effervescent, very dry. Overall, very nice lager.

A golden color with just a bit of suspended haze under a pillowy white head that laces the glass nicely, this beautiful BA lagerbier some grass, cracker, and a significant corn aroma on the nose.

The taste is fairly balanced, with the corn supplying a sweetness that actually works really well - I could drink a gallon of this crisp lager on a hot summer day after mowing our lawn. Really well done.

Barrique does some cool stuff with their barrel aging and this beer is no exception. Gimme more.
