Psychic Advisor is a tripped out, all seeing, West Coast Double IPA. This DIPA was brewed with a blend of 2-row and Pilsner base malts, to keep the body light, + a touch of wheat for maximum Pillowtops. It was hopped in the kettle, at psychic levels, with El Dorado, Amarillo, and Mosaic. Post fermentation, we read our palm, and it told us to do a big fucking dry hop. We obliged, and dumped in bags of more Mosaic, Strata, Amarillo, & our old dank pal CTZ. The resulting beer has big notes of candied mandarins, lime leaf, pine resin, and clairvoyant thoughts.

From: Windmill Farms in Del Cerro (San Diego), Calif.
Purchased: March 25, 2022
Consumed: March 25, 2022
Misc.: Canned on Feb. 11, 2022

Grabbed a bunch of There Does Not Exist and Burgeon beers, and a few others on a recent trip to Windmill Farms. Had this once before, giving a can of it a 4.25 on July 9, 2021 with Don. I wrote on Untappd “I like this too much for a 4.00. Excellent. Thanks, Don!” Untappd description was “Psychic Advisor is a tripped out, all seeing, West Coast Double IPA. Poured a light amber clear color with four fingers of rocky white head. Could see tons of fast-moving bubbles coming up along the sides of the glass. Perfect layered foamy lacing. Perfect foamy retention. (Sight - 5.00)

The El Dorado really stood out on the nose, followed by Strata, Amarillo and Mosaic. Also melon, tangerine rind, orange peel, dank weed, pine, viney berry, lemon, lime, citrus and dry grass. Almost as good from the can. (Smell - 4.25)

Tasted almost as good as the nose. First thing that came to mind was El Segundo’s Strata obviously from the Strata. Also Amarillo, weed, pine, dank resin, tangerine rind, orange peel, El Dorado, melon, Mosaic, viney berry, lemon, lime, citrus, dry grass, aspirin and lingering black pepper. (Taste - 4.00)

Medium body. Oily texture. Lively carbonation. Long, bitter, but smooth finish. (Feel - 4.50)

This was a nice beer. (Overall - 4.25)

Very clear bright yellow brew with long-lasting foam in the Faust stein. Pungent aroma of lemon and peach. Bright and lively on the tongue with a lighter than expected body. Serious citrus taste along with mango and blueberries. The moderate sweetness makes me think of candied grapefruit peel, but with out the hot-lips bitterness. A little hot with alcohol, however. But smooth and fruity with a sharp tang. Some bitterness but highly drinkable. Overall this is a better than average DIPA and a pleasure to sip. From the 16 oz can purchased at O'Shea's Brewing.

Here's another selection from the 22nd annual dipa/11th annual tipa festival. 4 days away from the 2023 jam. Never head of this brewery, so naturally wanted to check it out.

Pours golden, 1/2" scaled white head, bright, beautiful, I think this was the best appearance score at the festival for me that year. The aroma is pretty cool, there are Strata(gems) and CTZ like berry dankness. Some pine. Gotta drop all those citrus notes of orange, lemon, lime version of 7up in here (up in here, for perhaps, I have previously lost my mind).

The taste bangs away harder on the citrus, keeps dropping soda like citrus notes. The lighter malt bill (pilsner/wheat) aspect makes for a really good mouth feel, like I said, soda like lightness with its fruited flavors delivered via 3-5 different hops I'm thinking. Amarillo by morning and mouthfeel. Hides the alcohol pretty dang good, I bet you could feel a buzz after a pint even though you don't notice it taste/mouthfeel wise. Its got a lot going for it, good look, tasty hops, diversified maltyboi portfolio, there does not exist exists in a good way here.

I would like Dio more if so much of his catalog weren't 8+ minute songs.

Had Psychic Advisor poured from pint can, bottom stamped "PSYCHIC" and (apparently) canned on "06/02/2022," delivered by little bro. from Cali., into nonic pint.

Pours light gold with clarity and huge creamy off-white head, with excellent retention, leaving chunky, splotchy lace scattered down the glass. Aromas of sweet citrus and malt off pour, with the citrus continuing into pine resin, hop spice and pineapple. Begins with sharp citrus over sweet mild malt and some sweet fruits (perhaps including pineapple), then pine resin joins in and eventually takes over from the sweet fruit, and keeps a-growin' to a big, bitter and classically piney finish, grounded by a bit of sweet malt body.

Straight-up West Coast IPA, fruity, piney, bitter and big.

Packaged on 4/12/22, consumed on 4/27/22 - poured from a tall-boy can into my Bruery tulip.

Clear orange peel liquid with a slender ivory finger of soft peaks. Fine, pearling lacing; very good retention.

Candied orange, tropical punch, and a low herbal note in the nose.

Well rounded palate entry, suffused with orange blossom, orange oil, and hints of pineapple/mango/grapefruit. Long moderately dry finish with delicate yet complex herbal hop notes and a bit of character from the malt/wheat base. White tea, garlic greens, and river stones around the edges drag you back for another sip. Moderate, almost menthol-like bitterness persists.

Medium-bodied, lightly oily, somewhat warming.

Good complexity, and decent balance.

On tap at Windsor Homebrew in Anaheim, CA.

This one just bangs. And I’m not talking like Ricky Martin; think more so Serena Williams with a racket. Unlike Amelia Airhardt, this one can go around the world in 90 days. So if you can, I just recommend that you just do it (but not like Nike who uses slave labor).

Peace.

Look : Classic WCIPA . Color resembles Honey and Clear as hell . No sediment.

Smell: again. Classic wcipa greatness. It's all pine resin, fresh orange zest and a touch of lime ...like you ripped a leaf in half and rubbed it on your fingers then smelled it. Damned good.

Taste: Follows nose like a loyal soldier. Subtle Pine, orange peel, fresh hops without being overwhelming or aggressively trying to be a modern IPA. All classic glory here. Alcohol isn't noticeable at all. Goes down smooth and leaves a taste of fresh orange and lime.

Feel: it's what all WCIPA should be. Not thin and not a milkshake. Reminds me of what i loved about old school IPAs.

Overall : this is wonderful. It gives me hope that maybe we can go back to the good days of California IPA glory. Love what TDNE did here!
