From notes
Appearance: The barest of head on the pour does a long and desperate job of holding on. The body is as advertised, completely black.
Smell: Again as advertised, chocolate malt with a solid raspberry kick that manages to shine through. Potency is decent, even without warming.
Taste: Chocolate malt, but more on the malty then chocolate side. Think a Malteser (a slightly softer Whopper candy for those in the US) in beer for, but then the malt disappears leaving the chocolate to try to keep the show together until the Raspberry shows up at the end to save things.
Mouthfeel: I really liked the Raspberry end here, it's very well done. What I didn't like was the missing middle where some mild chocolate tries to hold down the fort. It's weird as the carbonation also seems to go flat, just at that transitioning point. In the end though, that ending does save things.
Drinkability: Slightly heavier then medium bodied, but not by much. If this was branded as a stout, I'd be upset, but it's not. It settles down well, but it does come across as a bit too sweet and deserty. Then again, not sure what I'd expect from a Raspberry Porter.
Final Thoughts: I bought this in a bit of a spur of the moment buy, seeing it on sale, not knowing that this brewery appears to have a swath of beers named Black Butte. I would legitimately be interested in the plain original version of this offering, as this one shows good promise.

Pours clear, dark reddish brown in color with one inch head. Taste is raspberry candy and dark chocolate. Light bodied, slightly sweet, moderate carbonation. Not bad but the raspberry seems a bit fake. Decent, not good.

Appearance: Deep amber in color, with clear ruby highlights before a strong light. The head is large, tan-colored, somewhat coarse, yet persistent. Fine beaded lacing coats the glass wall in an unbroken sheet.
Aroma: Abundant dark roasted malt defines the aroma. There are notes of dark caramel, coffee, black licorice, bitter cocoa and subtle raspberry.
Taste: Begins with a moderate amount of raspberry, against a backdrop of roasted malt. Soon after, there is cold coffee, bitter cocoa, sweet caramel, and licorice. Despite the respectable 6.8% abv, the alcohol is neither tasted, nor offers any warmth. Late in the taste, there is a wave of tea-like hops. Finishes with a long and lingering note of herbal bitterness.
Mouth feel: Very soft, smooth and pleasant, with gracious light carbonation.
Drinkability/notes: A really nice American Porter, though a bit more raspberry would be welcome.
Presentation: Packaged in a standard twelve-ounce brown glass bottle with a pry-off crown, served in a La Fin du Monde tulip.

12oz bottle. Label has bottling date of '07/07/22'.
Ruby brown colored body. One finger of tan head. Leaves a partial wall of lacing.
Aroma is raspberry sitting on top of chocolate/coffee roasted malts.
Taste is a balanced mixture of raspberry and roasted malts - tart and sweet. Raspberry flavor seems natural, and the malts have chocolate and coffee flavors. Mixture continues into the aftertaste.
Medium mouth feel. Minor creaminess. Bitterness is low. Very good carbonation.
Very good executed blend of the raspberry with the solid malted porter. Better to put this into the occasional rotation rather than a replacement for the original porter.

Poured into a Tree House glass a very nice dark brown/black color, very nice carbonation, with a very nice thick/creamy two-finger light tan head, which leaves a very nice huge island, and some very nice sticky lacing behind. The nose is pretty nice, malty, hoppy, with some pretty nice chocolate/toffee notes, some vanilla, raspberry, roasty, licorice. The taste is pretty nice, malty, hoppy, chocolate/toffee, some vanilla, raspberry, toasty, licorice. Medium body, ABV is hidden very well, with a pretty nice dry/bitter finish. Overall, a pretty tasty beer.

cola brown body with tanned cream fluffy froth head that has moderately high retention and leaves specs of big bubbled lacing behind as it settles to a murky cap with thin defined halo
aroma is funky sweet jam spread over lush toffee and chocolate malt; fairly subtle overall though.
taste is full, jammy sweet and tart with big roasted chocolate malt. raspberry sweet and tart notes are impressive, lively, decadent, and bright - perfectly complimentary to the base porter
mouthfeel is moderately high carbonation and medium bodied that runs smooth, full, and jammy before finishing slightly dry with a full chocolate malt finish with a tart tinge to it
overall:
the taste and feel of this brew carry it swiftly out of the fairly normative territory the appearance and aroma seem to advertise. the raspberry is an absolute delight of a compliment thanks to superiorly balanced notes of sweet and tart/bright and jammy.

taste: berry, a very tiny tart, bread in the background,
feel: balanced, crushable
overall: initially I thought this idea is a bit weird, but after trying I quite like it, it's a good combo, or rather, they have done a great job to combine tart and porter! well done! very tasty! cheers!

Bottled 3/29/21; drank 10/18/21 @ the Yarchives.
Opaque brown appearance.
A rough pour yielded a small noisy tan head; strong, frothy lace.
Raspberry syrup, acorn & mild caramel notes in the nose.
Medium thin mouthfeel.
Raspberry syrup, acorn & faint caramel flavors; artificial tasting and way worse than the regular version. Avoid this.

12oz bottle. Poured out an opaque, jet-black color with a small, light brown head of foam. It left sticky rings of lace on the glass. It smelled of sweet raspberry with a hint of tartness, rich chocolate and toffee. Sweet raspberry and chocolate taste with toffee and caramel.

Well it looks and smells just like regular black butte, with some added raspberry notes. No complaints there. Thick and chewey mouthfeel. Twas not ridiculously overpriced either, just a tad more than the regular. Overall you can't really go wrong here, so grab you a foursky and enjoy.

Dark reddish-black body; thick, dense and spongy head. Sweetly fragrant smell; raspberry. The taste highlights the raspberry but the base beer is well-hidden in the background. Medium body; soft and lightly velvety; mildly sweet mouthfeel overall.
The beer tastes fine and certainly highlights the raspberry, but the base beer seems rather watered down.
Poured at 69 °F; PACKAGED ON 03/29/21.

Deschutes Black Butte Raspberry Porter, 6.8% ABV. Pours black with 1.5 finger light brown head that left scant lacing. Nose is Raspberry, roast malt, and sugar. Taste follows, light sweetness, slightly more bitterness. Excellent mouthfeel, overall excellent.

Served from the bottle in a Lagunitas mason jar.
Just add raspberries! I can just hear the HSN/QVC hosts now. Anyway, this stuff pours a deep midnight brown topped by a finger of faded khaki foam. The nose comprises roasted malts, raspberry syrup, and a few drops of molasses. The taste brings in more of the same, the roast a touch muted and the raspberry acting as a lethal shadow. The body is a light medium, with a light moderate carbonation and a liquid feel. Overall, this didn't quite work for me, the berries not melding well with the porter aspects and feeling kinda plastic-y in the process.
