Our tour of Belgian Family Brewers was just finishing the site visit of Silly, one of the smaller members of the BFBA. But they have a mighty story that I outline in my Place Review. This helps explain the very good Overall Hugs I give Silly.
While it was just before noon and our stomachs were empty, Silly first poured Saison Village from bottles in Silly's tasting room. While free beer is rarely bad, Village Bio was refreshing in its attack and thru its cleansing, hoppy finish.
While saisons are a pretty style, Village Bio had my two main Look attributes: an active foam and a orangish tinge to its body. Smells were more blossoms than harvest fruit (but then, it was the first day of Spring!) Tastes started well-balanced, but then the hops asserted themselves more in the finish than I prefer for a table ale. Medium-mouthed.
I would drink this again and, in fact, I will since I bought Silly's sampler pack of 8 brews. A great value from a fifth generation family brewer.
4/16/26 I drank that copy and enjoyed it even more. I increased Look as it is a pretty amber and keeps its foam well. I also increased Feel as it is soft, but still suitable at the table and with my world-famous veggie stew. A Sante" !

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
