Strawberry Short’s Cake is a Golden Ale brewed with the addition of strawberries and milk sugar. The flavors of shortcake and fresh strawberries transform this beer into rose-colored party nectar that is pleasingly sweet with hints of cream. Biscuit flavors and aromas arise from the use of large amounts of Victory malt.

Hmm, sweet and malty nose and taste. Not much of a real beer flavor. A lot of sweetness, but not in a bad way. Just an odd beer, but again not in a bad way.

June 2023 Passion Project Release - 6 pack
12 oz. can dated 062023 (6/20/23) - 5.0% ABV / 15 IBU
Brewed and canned in Elk Rapids, MI
Poured into a Bell's branded nonic pint glass

Look - Pours a dense and fizzy tan-colored head that sticks around for a second. Slightly see-through, light to dark red appearance.
Smell - The scent is very malty and smells somewhat like cake. The strawberry is very light and in the background.
Taste - The taste follows the nose, and the flavors are blended very well. There's even a slight bitterness in the aftertaste.
Feel - Medium bodied with a slightly sticky mouthfeel and finishes with minimal dryness.
Overall - This is very close to the taste of real strawberry shortcake, and it's not too sweet or cloying.

When poured the smell finds your nose quick. Heavy strawberry notes to sweet cake finish.

Pours with a thicker brown ale look but blasting with fresh fruit smells and taste. I would recommend to anyone looking for a fresh fruit treat.

Very disappointing - thought this would be better, coming from a great local brewery. But it just didn’t work. Pours a murky, lighter brown color with some barely lasting head and basically no lacing. Smells faintly of malt, vague hops and maybe some berry aromas - but surprisingly very weak. Taste follows the nose. Not impressive or complex. Not bitter, not sweet. Thin mild mouthfeel, decent carbonation. I’ll pass next time.

Bottled 6/22/16; drank 7/1/16 @ the Yarchives.

Cloudy red/purple appearance.

A rough pour yielded a small, noisy eggnog head; decent lace.

Rich strawberry, honeyed wheat & burnt caramel notes in the nose; bold!!

Medium mouthfeel.

Strawberry ice cream & burnt caramel flavors up front; dry honeyed wheat notes on the finish.

Bold yet quaffable on a summer night; absolutely delicious. This blows Soft Parade out of the water...

Solid beer, hint of sour saved it for me. 1 is plenty.
