Happy Sunday all, knocking down a few of these while I try to screw up some pizza dough. Cheers!

12 ounce can, canned on 3/11/21. Pours a deep golden straw with an eggshell white head.

Nose is rather mild. Spicy wheat with a touch of earthy hop in there. I suspect the aroma will be more pronounced with better glassware.

Flavor is more assertive...pale malt foundation with floral and earthy hop flavors. Slightly citrusy on the back end. Fairly clean finish with hops lingering a bit. Very drinkable indeed.

This is my second 3F offering, both have lived up to the hype.

    Cheers BA’s!!

White Elm Blackberry/Blueberry/Raspberry Smoothie Sour, 4% ABV. Pours murky maroon and gloppy thick, with a slight purple head that left puree residue. Nose is blackberry, blueberry, and raspberry. Taste follows, plus vanilla, salt on the close, moderately sweet and slightly tart. Excellent thick and smooth mouthfeel, overall world-class. The best non-stout of theirs I've had.

I bought this a while back and have put off having it because I had another Pulpagogo variant and didn't care for it. This is right up there with some of the best Drekker and Brewing Projekt fruited sours I've had.

Clear, golden copper looking body; so-so carbonation; thin yet lasting head. Mildly spicy aroma; pine resin. Huge flavors of sweet malts; spice and pine hop flavors; noticeable but not over-dominating alcohol presence. Heavy body; a little flat and syrupy; plenty of boozy heat.

Sometimes I wonder why beers like this just aren't called "malt liquor" instead of claiming to be some sort of fancy-schmancy IPA...??? I got this for the curiosity of it all. I'm also glad I got just one.

Poured at 52° F; can data: CANNED 04/30/21.

    ------------

This beer probably met the brewer's expectations. Not mine...

Drained poured this one and considering cleansing my palate with Wild Turkey 101...

Greetings fellow NBSers! Worked a shorty shift today, and am now gonna have a few brews on this cloudy but warm Fourth Corner day. Normally, this would be one of the biggest days of the year here in The City of Subdued Excitement, Ski-to Sea Sunday. But, for the second year in a row, it's a covid casualty. https://skitosea.com/

Starting my beer day with an Ecliptic/ Von Ebert collab, Blackberry Meyer Lemon Ale. Made using kviek yeast, it's an interesting brew: https://www.beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/33058/551844/

Making a rare appearance today. Just mostly waiting for the beautiful day to be over so I can go to work later. This beer was provided by the awesome but unjustifiably banned BA member fka Orca_whale.

16 ounce can with no date, simple label. Seems like an early test run of canning or something along those lines.
Pours a rather disturbing hazy orange, some small floaties and a finger of soft white head. Most of it has left leaving just a crown around the glass.
Aroma is really pleasant; tied for my best score of the rating system. Doughy white bread, lemon and hay.
Taste follows. Starts with a big doughy and white bread then lemon, grass and citrus. Finish lingers with a lemony acidity.
Light body and mild carbonation washes down my tongue.
Overall, this is just what I need for a lighter beer with big flavor.

Pale, straw yellow body, mildly cloudy; thin yet persistent white head. Light horse blanket smell; green apple. Excellent flavor; tart and tangy; more green apple and lime-like citrus presence . Light body; tart, acidic, and bracing.

This beer delivers some exciting, low-ABV beer fun. It has punch and pizzaz, and (assuming a wild / farmhouse type of beer is to your liking) is quite easy to knock back.

Poured at 54 F. Bottle label note - 100% bottle conditioned: Alive Inside!

    ----------

Yes, after that last beer, a brutal quadruple IPA, this mixed culture low ABV beer is my kind of exciting and out-of-the-ordinary thirst quencher....

[IMG] Poured into a 13 oz Teku glass canned on 4/20/21. Pours a cloudy orange with a 2 plus finger sticky white head that leaves a thin wall of lace with nice retention. 4.25

Aroma is peach, mango, passionfruit, and apricot. 4

Taste follows peach, mango, passionfruit, and apricot.4

Mouthfeel is medium, fairly soft carbonation, not dry or sticky, and at 6% it goes down very easy. 4

Overall no wow factor, but a nice NEIPA. I would drink this again. 4

Good Sunday afternoon, New Beer Samplers and commentators. Twin Elephant Brewing has reopened its tasting room to "walk-ins" and I was excited to visit for the first time in over a year. During the pandemic, I purchased cans but didn't avail myself of seating by reservation. That just isn't conducive to my schedule. I like to stop in for a quick beer or two on the way home from work, which I've been able to do regularly at Untied and Bull n Bear. Now, Twin Elephant will be a regular option.

Whitesnake is a DIPA collaboration with District 96 Beer Factory in New City, NY, another favorite brewery of mine, so I was anxious to give this one a try. It's an ambitious project: using flaked oats and torrified wheat in the grist and hopped with Riwaka, Rakau, Motueka, Nelson Sauvin, and Pacific Sunrise hops. It's a complicated ale with lots of competing tastes. It was actually a bit hard to review but I'll try:

Reviewed 3 days after can release. Poured from 16 oz. can into a pint glass. It pours a murky, dirty golden color with a huge, fluffy, eggshell-colored cap and thick, clinging lacing. The smell is ripe and fruity with lemon, lime, orange juice, pineapple, honeydew, and oats. I expected its taste to be as sweet as the nose but it's surprisingly tart and dank. The lemon and lime pop first - the Motueka influence is strong - along with grapefruit rind from the Riwaka hops and some berry from the Rakau. But as it warms a bit the creamy oats, ripe melon, and orange give it a subtle creamsicle quality. The use of Nelson Sauvin hops is apparent from the dry, white wine grape and there are also slightly grassy, herbal notes. In addition, there is an unusual flavor in the background which I'm guessing comes from the torrified wheat - it's bitter and slightly burned. This is one complex ale. It has a terrific mouth feel: thick and creamy with moderate carbonation. And the 8.4% ABV gives it lots of heft. Overall, Twin Elephant and D96 have put a lot of effort into this collaboration and you can taste D96's influence in the soft fruitiness. My overall impression is that there are too many flavors competing. This is one of those collaborations which doesn't reflect the best beers of each brewer. But it's still pretty darn good!

    Greetings, fellow NBWers,

Sunny and warm here in the wilds of Spokanistan. Right now it's 78°, and is expected to top out in the low 80s. By next wekk, we're supposedly going to be in the mid-90s. I'm not quite psychologically ready for that, but it could be worse. In my hometown, it's going to be over 100 by then, if the weather witchdoctors prove
    to be correct.

Yesterday, after a disappointing trip to a tire shop, and an hour spent hiking the trails in the Dishman Hills, I met my friends A.V. and Abbie at TT's Old Iron Brewery. In addition to beer, TT's has an attached BBQ restaurant, so I ate a big ol meal of pulled pork with slaw and beans.

My first beer at TT's was their Max Pale ale, which was a nice PNW example of the style, hop forward but with a nice malt backbone.
I also had their Serpent's Dissent, a "cold IPA" brewed In collaboration with Varietal Brewing, of Sunnyside, WA. It basically reminded me of an aggressively hopped IPL.
From there, we adjourned to Genus Brewing, on the far side of Spokane Valley. I had their Carcharius, a 4.8% Grisette that was pretty nice, and we were entertained by a group of Bald Eagles that had become agitated by a scrap of paper that was caught on a thermal breeze very high up. Downside was that before I arrived, the older guy behind the counter was apparently quite rude to my friend Abbie when she ordered, so we moved on to YaYa, where I renewed my acquaintance with Fluffy Puffy Sunshine and took home a 4-pk.

Later, I met some other friends at Pacific Avenue Pizza, AKA PacAve, and had a couple pFriem Pale Ales and a shot of Mallort (not my idea). The pFriem Pale was an excellent west coast style example, even better than the Max at TT's I'd started the drinking day with. Kinda shocked to discover I'd never had it.

Today I'm doing housework and shaving my shitty goatee down to a moustache in tribute to my friend Dale, who passed away about a month ago at the too-young age of 47. (His bushy moustace and ever present cap of some sort or another were legendary)Today's his memorial, and because so many people donated to his memorial fund that after the actual expenses for getting his affairs settled and the issuance of a nice check to a charity he supported, there's enough left over for a big memorial/wake this afternoon in Coeur d'Alene Park, so we can send him off in style.

Quick question is Monday part of NBW this week? I think it should be.
Well the weather out here couldnt be worse. I actually had to start a fire and its almost June. Welcome to Global changes... More bad news Yesterday my music fest Riverstock has been canceled for the summer due to insurance issues. Really bumming me out but at least I got one in. Second part of this awful weekend is I quit my Pizza Shop job after making only 6 days. Im sorry, Im not working for people that drink on the job and screaming maniac crackheads. So goes the restaurant biz in so many places, but Ive had it. My joy with being able to create unique dishes and make people smile has about dissappeared. Im probably going to head in another direction after almost 40 years. Change can be good. And speaking of good this beer from the generous BA @JayORear Ive been saving for a rainy day....Bingo!!
    Tired Hands DDH Double Dobis
Pours a murky orange/gold with a sponge bubble like eggshell head that lingers for a few and settles to a thin ring with minimal lacing.
Aroma is huge orange/tangerine with mango, pineapple and some faint lemon notes.
Taste follows with fresh OJ, mango, some bitter grapefruit and grace notes of white wine. Well balanced not very sweet. Tangy with hops.
Body is medium/full, prickly carbonation just enough not to be filling. Fairly aggressive on the palate up front with hop oils, softening on the back end, drying out but leaving a hop coating on the tongue. Easy to drink. No abv listed but Im guessing around 8% since its a double. Great brew and definitely up there with some of my favorites of the year so far Jay.
    Thank You again. Cheers.[IMG]

Staying with Chicago brewers for a second New Beer Sunday 848 beer. This one a style I don't typically grab but always glad to try a new Revolution beer.

    Revolution Brewing Pursuit of Freedom

    Can Notes:
Session Sour Ale with Cherry & Lime. 4.5% ABV

Appearance: Darker clear orange pour, generous white bubbly head lingers for a few minutes leaving generous lacing and firm ring around the rim on the base. Mild to heavy carbonation. 4.25

    Aroma:
Sour and tart, cherry and lime overpour the light yeast. Aroma as advertised. 4.0

    Taste:
Consistent with the aroma, a tart cherry leads, the lime backs well. Sweet and sugary, consistent with the style. 4.0

Mouthfeel: Light crisp body, easy drinking consistent with the ABV. Sweet overall, tartness balances well. Light carbonation throughout, sweet aftertaste. 3.75

Overall: I am relatively inexperienced with this style, but this was consistent with expectations. Nice easy sweet refreshing drink for a warm day, very nice after my completed long walk. Recommend this one if you are looking for a light and easy sour on a Summer day. 4.0

May come back with one more today, definitely returning for the bonus Monday. Looking forward to reading the thread until then.

    Cheers!

Good evening NBS/NBW and again thanks to @Roguer for this weekends hosting.
Beer Mike at Coopers Corner recommended this fine treat from Warwick NY.
I really like the overall effort, nice saison, with a well applied wood treatment.

    3.99/5 rDev +3.1% | Average: 3.87
    look: 3.75 | smell: 4 | taste: 4 | feel: 4 | overall: 4

Poured from an undated 16 oz can, into the test glass.
A - Lite straw color, a bit hazy. Gentle carbonation moves topside coalescing into a thin white ring.
S - Mixed culture up front, with citrus forward portfolio. Orange peel, kumquat, then sweet grain, wheat, a spicy element maybe from rye? There is a bit of oak treatment, that adds some earthy elements.
T - Here it runs a bit thin, with again the mixed culture and maybe the hops tiliting to the citrus side, with lemongrass, toasted wheat, orange reduction, with an earthy thread from the Foeder treatment.
M - Medium in body, slick, with more carbonation it could really pop. Finish is sweet, linger is tropical
O - A good mixed culture treatment, I like that aspect quite a bit. The Foeder softens the offerings texture. I understand and appreciate the craft displayed in this fine saison
