I'm gonna go out on a limb here and blame it on BA fucking with us because they're tired of the shitshow this thread is.

 

For those that have gone before. What are odds of getting a draft pour of Handjee or FVM. Are these beers even poured on draft at the festival. What have been your experiences with FFF drafts at DLD?

Go to the Hampton Inn lobby in Munster.

Edit: I'll be there (as of now) with some large fish (not really whalez but not shabby stuff either).

They most certainly will be tapped at some point during the day, but whether or not you are there when it happens is completely based on luck. If you make it to later in the day, variants get easy to get on tap as the crowd really starts to thin out. This will be my 4th year going, and the only variant that I have ever had on tap was Bourbon Barrel DL in 2015. But some people get lucky and get to try a bunch. All about being in the right place at the right time!

 

Finally got my tickets. Group E but so pumped to be even going. I'll be bringing

A couple of shitty local home brewers yum yum clones.

 

I use the orange lanyard from 2015, it has an alligator clip, I clip that to my GoVino plastic stemless wine glass. Hands free Darklord day!!

I had Handjee on tap last year toward the end of the festival. They simply wrote "vanilla" on the chalkboard

 

I've been pretty successful scoring good variants in previous years, but last year was difficult, didn't even see them go up to have run out before I got through the line. I got Vanilla at the end of the day, but to be honest have had it enough I'd rather try the FVM or more random variants.

I hope they put more on draft this year. They can get the same margins vs bottle. 750ml bottle is about 25 ozs, or 5 five oz pours so they could sell 5, 5 oz, $10 draft pours of variants would have the same profit margin without the expense of bottling it....

 

I'll be staying at this fine establishment Friday night, and will likely be bringing some decent beers as well.

 

What's time are you thinking would be good and how many bottle per person to be fair to bring?

 

I plan on bring some middle range beers to share.
