looking for some recommendations for breweries, restaurants/bars with a good bottle/draft list and possibly a bottle shoppe in case I want to send a box home. In town for the week. Cheers and thanks!
Where are you staying? A lot of recent threads on the topic. Here's a solid start: http://www.beeradvocate.com/community/threads/raleigh-durham-nc-bottle-shops.311501/#post-3846233 http://www.beeradvocate.com/communi...aleigh-this-weekend-beer.332887/#post-4051934 http://www.beeradvocate.com/community/threads/raleigh-area-brewery-question.323208/#post-3961444
do you have a car? if so take a short trip to durham and hit up sam's quick shop...Morrisville bottle rev is closer and worth the uber fare...
Sam's has a huge selection - the rarest stuff goes pretty quickly, but if anything special is coming through town, they'll usually get it. Great selection of NC brews (lots of Wicked Weed stuff in particular), but tons of stuff from around the country and the world, and a smattering of unique beers on draft. Burial is releasing some cans this week of their Donut Skillet Stout, so be on the lookout for that if you hit any bottle shops after Thursday. Fullsteam in Durham is having a 5th anniversary celebration this Thursday-Saturday - extended hours, releasing a few variants of their imperial stout, etc. - so check that out if you make the trip to Sam's.
Thanks a lot. So SAMs would have these variants Thursday afternoon hopefully? That's probably the best day for me to go there
We're delivering bottles of IGOR to Sam's on Thursday, and we'll offer up a tasting of the beer at 5pm at the store. If you can't make it to the brewery, you'll be able to sample our imperial stout Thursday afternoon (and purchase some bottles as well). Enjoy your travels!
Drive over to Saxapahaw, north of Chapel Hill off of N.C. 54, and visit Haw River Farmhouse Ales. You'll thank me!
