cool to have this, apparently usually used as a lending beer or as a base for things to be added to, its really good on its own, lots of wheat, lots of bourbon, sweet and strong, a beer that both mandates patience and then rewards it handsomely, pretty rad. quite a bit of color to this, copper looking, viscous and with some haze, very light on the carbonation and not much head from the tap, just slightly raw looking to me, leggy and visually sweet. the aroma is strong vanilla and bourbon, subtle cocoa and char from the barrel, obvious wood heaviness, booze is there too, golden raisin fruitiness, a hint of maple syrup, and all the wheat in the world, toasted, earthy, starchy, full, cohesive overall, if slightly unpolished, the alcohol is robust. the flavor is similar, lots of whiskey and its amazing with the heavy wheat foundation, im sure ive had this in various blends plenty of times, these guys are the unofficial kings of wheatwine, but i think it works on its own pretty well too! strong vanilla bean, light smoke, lots of oak itself, honey for sure, and some cool nuances from coconut to dried apricot, increasingly complex and also boozy as it warms. filling and sugary, kind of makes me tired, but i like the flavors a lot. to me the white oak beer on its own is far more refined and special, but this base stock has a lot going for it obviously, not least the barrel treatment which really enhances the wheat. i am so thankful to have a bruery location in idaho where these rarities come around!

On tap for the Bruery Initiation Celebration held at The Phoenix Club in Anaheim, CA.
Pours a hazy orange with a foamy beige head that settles to wisps of film on top of the beer. Small dots of lace slowly drip into the remaining beer on the drink down. Smell is of malt, caramel, vanilla, and white chocolate. Taste is much the same with a sweet vanilla flavor and an alcohol kick on the finish. This beer has a good level of carbonation with a crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a very good beer with some nice aromas and flavors that I can see working well as a blending beer.

From notes, on tap at the Melange 3 Components Dinner
Pours a murky orange with white head that quickly dissipates.
Very sweet. Toffee, caramel, vanilla. Reminiscent of alcoholic cream soda.
Incredibly sweet, cloying, and rich. Liquid creme brulee.
Medium carbonation, a bit sticky.
