Beer served in a small snifter, beer is cloudy, whitish haze and a red beer, pink, big white head of small bubbles, bubbles are sort of pink, interesting.

Smells like flowers, mild oak, sugar / caramel. Odd mix of aromas.

Beer is really sweet, a little powdery on the finish, very floral on the palate, like drinking rose pedals and caramel. Odd beer but overall an interesting one. I would cautiously have this again.

Had on-tap at Rattle N Hum in Manhattan, NY on 6/29/11.
Review taken from notes.

A - This beer pours a beautiful ruby red color. It has a very thin white head on it. The head left behind just a little bit of lace on the glass.

S - It smells sweet, fruity, and floral. It has a sweet candied quality to it. There are also some scents of roasted malt, fruit, and some vanilla.

T - The taste starts off with some roasted malt flavor. There is a big caramel sweetness presence, as well as some wood and vanilla. I am also getting a nice bit of hop bitterness and some booziness. The finish is sweet, boozy, and slightly bitter.

M - This has a medium to full body and lower carbonation. It has a nice smooth feel to it. It is sweet, bitter, and has some alcohol warmth to it.

O - This has good drinkability. It is a bit of a sipper, but the flavor is just great. Overall, I think this is a good tasting and very interesting beer. I am really glad I got to try it, and If I ever see it again I will buy another glass. I recommend.

Not sure if was ontap and then into a pitcher or bottle to pitcher or cask to pitcher.

App- Poured a hazy medium amber with a nice one finger head to it. Had a fair amount of lacing on it.

Smell- Was a very candy like smell with a lot of sweetness.

Taste- Its quite a different tasting beer with the fruit/veggie aspect of the beets in it. You get a smooth vanilla with a little bit of caramel for the sweetness and then some malt and the rye to add to a nice if not different flavor.

Mouth- Its on the border of being medium bodied to me but ill say its a soft body and quite delicate on the palate. The after taste is a bit odd but I can't knock it really.

Drink- It's a tasty beer with some quite different flavors. I enjoyed but wouldn't order it again.
