Great nose on this beer. It bears starting off with that point. Light cracker, pepper and cotton candy, it's superb. On the palate this has a very mild, very clean taste, the nose only muted, although it avoids being watery thanks to the abundant but relatively soft carbonation, shown off above the very pale body in a huge, fluffy cap of cottony foam.
This beer could use some fleshing out to give the body a bit more oomph, or dialing back of the ABV to < 4% so that it's relative thinness would work in its favor instead of against it.
Still, a pleasant surprise, and much better at the source (where I tasted it, reviewing here from notes) than when I'd sampled it at a local bar.

Poured a hazy pale golden yellow with a thin head that left a little blotchy lacing on the glass. Its aromas was very simple consisting of belgian yeast with pineapple, slight malts, and very mild underlying hops. Like the nose the taste was pretty simple as well with belgian yeast running the show alongside malts and rice which had faint hops and slight citrus notes. The beer was medium body with a good amount of carbonation that had a grainy crisp finish. Drank well but this is something I will not try again if I want a flavorfull brew.

Thanks for sending this growler Mike. Had this a while ago, but jotted down a few notes on my phone at the time. Finally getting around to it...
Pale golden color, tiny bit of chill haze? It was darkish on my friends back patio by the chiminea, but the huge head was glaring. Effervescent, this growler held up great in transit.
A nice summer beer, and one that I would fill my growler with again if I had the chance. Lightly grainy, white grape juice in the taste and some meyer lemon in the aroma. A touch of yeast character, but the mouthfeel is thin and carbonation high, making this crisp and superbly drinkable. Overall pretty delicate and clean, though approachable - some of the non beer drinkers present enjoyed the glass I poured them.

8 oz growler pour into a Bruery Tulip. Growler fill at The Bruery an hour prior.
A - Poured for the super-awesome Bruery growler, Humulus Rice is a lightly hazy golden yellow with a plump white head. No retention though and only spotty lace is left behind.
S - Light pale malts waft out gently but also carry a slight rice and grainy hint. Maybe it's the name thing tricking me or maybe it really is made with rice. I wouldn't be surprised. A light citrusy hop hint comes across with a mild spiciness too.
T - The flavor is really mild, offering up a slight citrus and floral hop flavor with a thin malt and grain taste to the finish.
M - I definitely like how clean this beer is but a downside is it's thin flavor and feel with a light citrusy, refreshing finish.
D - Easily drinkable, this growler less than an hour old didn't last very long at all. I also really like that it got a "Miller Lite guy" into good beer though! Another semi-convert. Hopefully he sticks with it.

On tap at Maxs.
This was a fairly boring, citrusy Belgian pale. Poours a clear hazed pale golden with whitish head. Aroma is yeasty and typical Belgian pale with mild cat piss which I assume is from the rice since I picked up the same from Exit 16. Well carbonated and medium full bodied with a grainy Belgian body. Not great, not bad, I would pass on this.

The beer pours a pale hazy gold color with very good head retention and lacing. On the nose, this beer is very hop forward, with a fruity, perfumy aroma profile. The beer is every bit as impressive on the palate, with the Belgian spices and hoppy bitterness and light sweetness playing very well together. Mouthfeel is fairly light, and the flavors seem to almost dance away on the finish. Drinkability is excellent, and I only wish this beer would be available all the time in this market (probably not going to happen I'm afraid).
Just an altogether brilliant effort from Bruery. Have so far loved everything by them that has the word humulus in the title.

On tap at Max's yesterday
Light hazy yellow with a dense, white head, this beer has great retention and nice lacing. The nose is interesting. Spicy, floral, mildly perfumey, this is very delicate. Is there some coriander too? Honey, light bread character and light sweetness are present, this stuff is delicate and refreshing
The palate opens dry, crackery and dare i say, bland? A little flavorless, is that due to the rice? No malt character, there's a mild hop character with low bitterness. Floral character is moderate and there's a refreshing orange peel character. Drying on the finish, this is a touch over-carbonated with a lingering hop character on the finish. Very drinkable, though for my palate, Taras Boulba is where this style is at

Drank 5/7/10 at The Bruery
Reviewed from notes
Poured on-tap into a Bruery Tulip
A - Pours a very light orange/yellow with some hazyness. The beer had a small amount of head almost white.
S - Smell was nice. I could smell the Belgian yeast that the Bruery uses as well as some sweet fruit smell and a little bit of hops.
T - The smell is similar to the taste with sweet and Belgian yeast flavors on the front of the beer with a little bit of hops on the back end. The rice also adds a bit of interesting flavor to the beer.
M - This beer is quite light and had a crisp refreshing feel in my mouth. The beer has a moderate amount of carbonation.
D - I really enjoyed this beer it was light and had good flavor. Very suitable for the time of year. And it left me wanting another glass which is always a good thing.

Pours a hazy yellowy color with a big sudsy white foam head.
Smells lightly of tropical notes, but mostly of yeasty zest and a bit of lemon.
Taste is clean, refreshing, crisp: this is the rare beer where I think the mileage one gets out of it will be greater than the raw review score. Bit of lemons and yeast on the tongue, some hints of tropical hoppiness. Not an overpowering beer: this is a mellow, quaffable summer brew.
Nice airy, fluffy mouthfeel.
