1 PINT can
Served in a tulip glass

This beer pours pale yellow and hazy. It is topped with a small, fleeting, white head that leaves no lacing.

Funky and sour aroma. I can smell the pear juice.

Great sour flavor. There is some funk too. The pear juice is upfront. Lingering sourness in the finish.

Medium bodied with a smooth mouthfeel. I would have preferred a dryer mouthfeel.

Nice sour ale. My only complaint is that it wasn't more attenuated.

This is my first sour beer & it's got pear juice (!!!)

Look: Golden-yellow in appearance with 11/2 finger white head that leaves nice lacing, medium carbonation.

Smell: Tart, vinegar-like, mildly oak, and fruity-citrusy (orange) fragrances.

Taste: A lot sourer than I expected ( a very unique flavor profile), I can taste the pear juice with a ginger-like zing, with good woodsy bitterness to finish (like an aged bourbon).

Feel: Medium mouthfeel with a zing that tingles the tongue and salivates the mouth.

Overall: A unique beer (would definitely drink again)

Selection from December 2021.

Pours the most familiar color of dark yellow/gold. 1/2" white head. Plenty recognizable as beer. Nothing about the added pear juice compromises the appearance. The aroma has a good amount of dry oak, fruit juice, lemon sourness and hoppiness to it. It legitimately has a big dry hop and is probably the best one of those sour/wild ale/saison dry hopped beer aromas out there. Mosiac, Sabro and Citra all pop in their tropical, pepper and citrus connotations. Complex. I guess if you were looking for a saison yeast in the nose you'd be disappointed, but this beer is tough to take seriously as a saison. Its more like a wild ale ipa.

Taste brings just such a hodgepodge of different style tastes into play, but you know, this quasi kitchen sink approach here actually results in an enjoyable beer to drink. So yeah, wild ale lemon sourness, light, dry woodiness seeming more on the French than American side of oak. Proprietary hopping. Varied fruity impacts, from a multitude of sources (actual pear juice, hops, yeast, funk). Drinks pretty easy to say the least. Light malt body carries immense weight pretty effortlessly.

On paper, this didn't look like it was going to be enjoyable. But it was. Definitely an enjoyable beer and at only $4 a can, the price is right too.

Quite an exceptional farmhouse ale. Slightly sour Woody hoppy with just a slight fruity pear taste in the finish slightly dampened by the dry yeast. At 5.8%, it's light and flavorful quite easy to quaff. Overall a very interesting beer well worth picking up for $4 for the pounder

I usually do not enjoy this style. It can get too grassy and yeasty. This one is much better than most, for me, the saison (not quite) hater.

The beer pours a rich deep yellow with fine bubbles. The aroma is strong mixed bag of yeast, malts and hops. A nice warning to the strong taste that follows. The burp is a mouthful too.

Recommended. A very good example of the style.

16oz can shared with my wife in a SIP Fest snulip. Canned 01/29/20.

Pours a mostly clear light golden with a medium to large head, collapses slowly, and medium carbonation. Smell is tart, oaky, vaguely funky, vaguely fruity.

Taste is fruitier, possibly leaning toward pear as the label suggests but possibly only because the label suggests it. Soft, surprising bitterness.

Mouthfeel is fairly soft, kind of airy. Overall, it's a pretty good beer.

My wife, for the record, isn't a huge fan, and finds it kind of watery. I can kind of see it that way, but I have to shift things in my head. That's not my natural perception.
