Second Reef is an 8.6% IPA brewed with pilsner, oats, wheat and low crystal and hopped with Amarillo, Galaxy, Mosaic and Denali. We used a small amount of all these hops in the whirlpool and dry-hopped with the same at close to 5lbs per barrel.

Canned on 6/9/2020. Poured into a snulip glass. It pours a hazy, brownish-tangerine color with a creamy, bright white cap and lacing. The nose is dank and floral with citrus and slight melon notes. The taste is a pleasing combination of dank lemon and pine with melon, guava, wheat cracker,, and oaty sweetness. The flavors are soft and plush. There is a slight bitterness at the finish but it's not particularly sharp. The mouth feel is thick - almost chewy - with moderate carbonation, and the 8.6% ABV gives is a lot of substance. Overall, for almost any brewer Second Reef would be a tour de force. But Kane's next iteration, Third Reef, has a lot more pop.

Moderate pour yields a 1/2 inch white head over a hazy golden body with nice lacing. Beautiful! Nose of tropical fruit and pine. Taste of candied tropical fruit with a citrus pith finish, Real nice feel and overall, a gem from Ocean Township, NJ. Cheers!

On tap at uno's.
Clear yellow. Small head. On retention.
Orange rind, pleasant but not very strong aroma.
Taste: citrus, grasses. Nondescript.
Very smooth, medium carbonation. Light body.
OK. Weak compared to the other lanes I am drinking.

Updating ratings. This is much better than first sampled. Sometimes the 3/4 oz pour just doesn't capture the magic.
Can to Snifter.

Deep, dank, strong, oaky DIPA from great brewer.
A) Pours a golden sushine color, faint haze, mostly clear with last and lace.
S) Big dank, grassy, maryjane, hoppy aroma - with ripe tropical fruit, mango, guava.
F) Gets more oaky. Big, hoppy, dank, grassy, wood cedar, and tropical fruit flavors.
F) Carbonation and finish are sharp, pinpoint, edgy.
O) Made great impression in direction of great STONE DIPAs... an excellent DIPA, would drink again.
