(16 oz can, canned on 06/01/21; purchased cold 4-pack from the brewery... poured into my Belhaven pub pint)
L: polished-clear, pale brassy hued liquid; loose, crackily froth cap... thin collar keeps; one lousy streak of lace at the top
S: honey-sweetened corn cereal (Kix) with maybe a kiss of dried apricot or apple; lightly bready... the beer is sitting around 64 F right now and this aroma is heavenly - corn bread out the corn hole
T: mildly-doughy, almost cookie-like malt up front, interrupted by a stunning, pithy/herbal bitterness, with a citrus essence tail, which trails and rails into the aftertaste, as a baked, bready grain accents the malt as it urgently surges back ahead during the finish... subsequent sips see the malt/grain foundation (relatively corn-colored) and honed, bitter simmer fall into more of a measured harmony... corn bread, baby
F: certainly a chubby bloat up front - let it hang, then let it drop down... delicate simmer of gas... hop and toast glow (urged by the ethanol) in the aft... it ain't cream(y), but it smears a subtle smooth caress over the palate
O: served with a plastic cup outdoors under tent at the brewery, the character and pounce of its bitterness struck me then (like two days ago) as it does now; thought it was distinct enough to grab a pack... 'cream ale' (BA) vs 'golden ale' (as branded)?? - one can argue it's more of the former - good (or great!) for what it is... I can't help but hear 'Super Golden Black Sunchild' every dang time I see this label (1802)

Poured into a frosty pint glass. Most of what Kane does is good, this is no exception and the perfect change of pace from hoppier IPAs and Ales. Great body and full flavor with a creamy mouthfeel as you would expect but rarely get from cream ales these days.

LOOK: clear yellow, small off white head, good retention.
AROMA: graham cracker, light grains, milk sugar, .
TASTE: light toast, rice, ash., very light coffee.
