Tenth, is a blend of barrel aged beers to celebrate our first ten years of brewing. To commemorate this milestone, we pulled samples from various barrel-aged beers we had in stock to create a special blend for our tenth anniversary. We believe this is the perfect beer to help represent our first ten years of production.

Pours a slow deep and dark brown, semi vigorous pour yielded minimal head. All that remains is a medium light brown ring and what looks like a spiral galaxy of light brown that moves and swirls in the middle. Swirling the glass leaves a nice coating of the beer that slowly works its way back to the glass.

Nose yields a touch of heat, rich dark chocolate, some char, and a little vanilla note.

Taste is rich chocolate, with the same char that I noted in the nose. What is a pleasant surprise to me is a noticeable maple note, no indicator in the nose of it at all. The taste is very well balanced.

Big beer, low carbonation with mouth coating, but not thick, feel to it. There is a slight heat that builds in the throat as I sip on it. Little bitterness in the form of char.

ordered this beer for delivery about 2 months ago and the bottle has been in my cellar since. Im pouring at cellar temp into my snifter.
The beer pours a jet black color with no light passing through my glass. A dense creamy tan head foams up about 2 cm and fades to a sturdy edge layer with some slowly spinning islands in the center of my glass. Beer looks great in the glass.
The aroma is deep and rich malts with dark chocolate and fudge brownie notes with a little bit of bourbon and some mild vanilla. No hint of hop character and not really boozy or fusol, so the 12% is well hidden. appealing nose on this brew.
First sip reveals a full body with soft silky texture and slightly sticky feel on my lips and palate after each sip. Carbonation is gentle and very fine, only slight tingles as it rolls across my palate. Physical traits match up with the style.
Flavor is rich fudgy chocolate and some high cacao notes, also a bit of roasted note, but dark chocolate fudge dominates. Definitely not cloying candy sweet, but no bitterness either. I do get hints of bourbon and some coconut maybe, and some cinnamon comes in on the finish with just a little tingle. It works really well and is in the background and was unexpected, but I get the cinnamon each sip, so not my imagination!
No hop character, not boozy nor warming either. This big thick stout hides its 12% booze!
This is my first Kane stout and now that I have had this one, I will definitely be looking to get more of them. Very well made, great physical traits and dangerously drinkable for a big beer. Quite lovely to be honest!

500ml bottle served in a tulip. Received from @jonphisher.

Pours black and mostly still, No head on the pour, very little very slow very fine carbonation. Smell is chocolate, vanilla, maybe some oak.

Taste is very nice. Sweet but not quite syrupy, lots of chocolate and vanilla ice cream richness. Something gives me a very slight cinnamon sense. Sticky toffee pudding definitely comes to mind.

Mouthfeel, although seemingly still, is thick, rich, and soft like velvet. This beer is very good.

Pours pretty thick and dark, nice mocha head that fades fairly quickly. Strong chocolate aroma mixed with faint cinnamon? and coconut, nice barrel aroma. Flavor is milk chocolate, there’s that cinnamon again - very faint, barrel aging gives it a touch of light vanilla. I sense some cognac barrel in there as well. Semi sweet. Fantastic texture, smooth and fairly viscous. Overall, lots of flavors going on, remarkable that there are no adjuncts in it and all the flavors come from the barrels. Going to buy more. Delicious.

Tar black with a short tan head settling to a level blanket and finally to a fine chain.

An expression of bourbon pricks the tongue at first before chocolate covered fire roasted marshmallow immediately floods in second. There aren't any adjuncts, right? Wow. As it warms, it opens up to an almost rye spice and a hint of savory earthiness that brings with it a touch of partially charred wood that somehow both dries up and renders stickier the swallow.

The full body is fairly thick and viscous. but with a finely delicate yet unbroken carbonation that slightly expands before coming to a peppery semi-dry finish that swallows semi-sticky with a warming exhale.

It vibes nostalgic and comforting, as if sitting at a fireplace stoically contemplating time. While expertly blended, as I'm detecting no off-notes whatsoever, strangely enough, it's also a tad bit sweeter than it needs to be to hit 5s across the board for me.

Pours pitch black with a large dark khaki head that slowly dissipates to a small head that never leaves. Some nice lacing is left on the glass as it is sipped.

The aroma is deep, rich, sweet chocolate, followed by notes of maple syrup and sweet vanilla. Hints of coconut, charred oak, and dark fruits, namely dates, are in the background. Some nice caramel bourbon sweetness as well. This rides the line of smelling too sweet, but remains balanced and beautiful!

The flavor follows the nose. Sweet and decadent, but balanced which makes perfect sense knowing Kane's modus operandi (they've always meshed flavors together without making them messy). The first thing that comes to mind is creamy chocolate milk with a touch of bourbon and vanilla. The more I sip this though the more I can't shake the idea that I'm getting some cinnamon that wasn't detected in the nose and brings a nice dryness to the finish. There's also a fairly distinct coffee character, and a fair amount of charred oak as it warms.

The mouth feel is moderately thick for the style, but not nearly as thick as many others these days. It's palate coating, and somewhat viscous. The cinnamon note that I mentioned before seems to dry out the palate and make it linger longer than most beers. It isn't at all unwelcomed or unpleasant, but perhaps a bit too dry for me to give it higher marks in this department.

This is a fabulous beer! I could easily nitpick tiny details, but at the end of the day this is damn good, and an extremely worthy entry in Kane's catalogue for their 10th anniversary! While they didn't list any adjuncts, and simply said they "pulled samples from various barrel aged beers", I suspect that at the very least there is cinnamon and cacao in this, and that at least one or two of the barrels used were maple-bourbon barrels. Seek this out if you know what's good for you!
