Jet black, no head (as it's served still). Nose is all heavy rye with a touch of sweetness. Thick and syrupy, almost too much so as there is no carb to balance it. Finishes sweet, chalky with a touch of maple.
Totally divine.

Okay, this is perfect. I'm sorry but Cory is a magician. No carb? No matter. Never bottled? Ugh.
At Huna day we waited in line for an hour only to discover...the scribe still hadn't kicked. We began urging everyone at the festival to drink the scribe, no need to wait in line, for the next 20 minutes we watched the Scribe be guzzled like high life until the last foamy glass poured out.
Two candles was worth the wait. Thick, but drinkable. The viscosity wasn't sticky so much as chewy. Not oily, but rich. Aroma I can still smell, chocolate, coffee, roast, maple, oak. Everything dark and bourbon-y. Best beer at Huna day. Best beer I've ever tasted probably.

Had this at huna day 2016. Late to rate this one, so no review other than the maple sweetness was the prominent distinguished characteristic of this beer. And the huge ass line to get 2oz
