Bunch of beer-loving guys from the NE area headed to Austin from August 11-14 for a bachelor party. Looking for recommendations for good beer places (ie breweries with tours and fun local pubs). Plus what local beers should I been on the look out for when I'm down there? Thanks!

Luckily, most people have done the research for you! (it gets asked a lot) Brewery map/taproom hours: http://www.craftbeeraustin.com/texas-brewery-brewpub-tour-listings-map/ http://www.beeradvocate.com/community/threads/austin-trip-advice.309309/ http://www.beeradvocate.com/community/threads/recommdations-for-austin.332821/ http://www.beeradvocate.com/community/threads/austin-brewery-suggestions.379817/ http://www.beeradvocate.com/community/threads/first-time-to-austin-tx.396851/ http://www.beeradvocate.com/community/threads/bachelor-party-recs-for-austin.298692/ http://www.beeradvocate.com/community/threads/downtown-austin-tx-bottle-shops.306501/ http://www.beeradvocate.com/community/threads/beer-recommendations-austin-tx.313874/ http://www.beeradvocate.com/community/threads/austin-to-dos.316622/ http://www.beeradvocate.com/community/threads/in-atx-from-phx-11-7-11-11-events.350385/ http://www.beeradvocate.com/community/threads/visting-austin-lakeway-from-11-24-thru-11-28.355896/ http://www.beeradvocate.com/community/threads/austin-for-super-bowl-weekend.375394/ http://www.beeradvocate.com/community/threads/austin-tips.261393/ http://www.beeradvocate.com/community/threads/austin-this-weekend-for-bbq-where-for-beer.198609 http://www.beeradvocate.com/community/threads/texas-recommendations.192940 http://www.beeradvocate.com/communi...m-denver-to-austin-places-i-must-visit.182644 http://www.beeradvocate.com/community/threads/texas-beer-tour.180762 http://www.beeradvocate.com/community/threads/visiting-austin-next-week.172767/ http://www.beeradvocate.com/community/threads/stag-party-in-austin-suggestions.162500/ http://www.beeradvocate.com/community/threads/week-in-austin.240724/#post-3090858 http://www.beeradvocate.com/community/threads/only-one-night-in-austin.225545 http://www.beeradvocate.com/community/threads/austin-trip-advice.309309 http://www.beeradvocate.com/communi...s-and-bottleshops-in-austin-texas-area.263463
The best idea is to grab a bunch of local beers at East 1st grocery and walk across the street to eat at La Barbecue for lunch. It will be hot in August and there will likely be a wait but it's well worth it, plus that's what the beers are for. Brewery wise, I would hit up Hops & Grain and Live Oak
Sorry to bump old posts, but if I only had time to visit 2 craft beer stores, would Whichcraft & East 1st Grocery be it?
I'd probably take any of the following over Bangers: Hopfields Whip In Hi Hat Salt & Time Black Star Pinthouse Pizza (either location) NxNW (either location) Easy Tiger gets an honorable mention If you include trailers/pop-ups: Craft Pride (if you want Via 313 pizza) Draught House Live Oak Hops & Grain
These eateries you mentioned have a sit down bar, casual atmosphere? Just trying to have a good lunch, a beer or two and drive back to Houston.
Yea, all the restaurants (the top part of the list) are casual dining for lunch and you should be able to find their menus/draft lists (or use untappd) online. Draught House and the breweries may not have trailers for lunch during the week. Another option for lunch is Central Market or Whole Foods (I believe all of them have bars and serve lunch, but WF Domain will have the best selection).
I am the manager up at ABC Liquor on Parmer. We have a decent selection of beer if you all are ever up north. on Parmer ln.
