Two Whole Foods Market locations are set to premiere new in-store breweries before the end of the year. Each location’s beers will eventually be available for draft pours in Whole Foods taprooms throughout their regional markets, not necessarily just at the breweries themselves.
When a beer is labeled “best by,” the brewery makes a judgment weighing freshness against shelf life, and, presumably, the brewery’s bottom line. With “bottled on” dates, buyers must decide for themselves.
In 2012, Troyo Terorotura opened REAL a Gastropub in Honolulu. Included in the establishment’s 24 taps and more than 200 bottles are beers from mainland breweries like Coronado, Ballast Point and Clown Shoes, right beside locals like Kona, Maui Brewing and Big Island.
