2920 is a blend of barrel-aged ales aged in rye whiskey barrels. This beer is released annually to commemorate our anniversary. Each year we save a portion of our previous anniversary beer to be blended with a fresh batch that is then aged for a year in rye whiskey barrels. We do this so that every anniversary ale contains a piece of our past and evolves and changes with the brewery over time.

Pours dark with minimal head. Interesting aroma - cinnamon forward as if it were aged in an Amburana cask. Flavor is complex - I get the Cognac barrel flavor, some chocolate, and as it turns out, it was aged in an Amburana cask, and that is where a majority of the flavor comes from. I love it. Wish I had more. Minimal carbonation adds to a creamy texture. Overall this is a very tasty beer, aged for 4 years in a fridge, drinks very well. Delicious.

2019 vintage; consumed on 2/12/2022
Pours a glossy, matte black body capped with two fingers of creamy, khaki-hued foam; decent head retention leaves a thin yet rich layer of cap, a large, frothy collar, and a generous spatter of large, webby lacing spread haphazardly across the walls of the glass.
Aromas open to fig enmeshed in robust cocoa overtones, steadily embracing charry vanilla into a peaking rye spice, somewhat floral over the middle, as the bouquet becomes increasingly oaky into the back end as slight plum accents the close.
Taste offers leather, fig, and plum upfront, phasing toward a familiarly robust cocoa and bakers chocolate imbuing rye barrel undertones over the mid-palate; a touch of toffee balances dark fruit esters on the back end as a hint of dark cherry skins and oaky whiskey linger through the finish.
Mouthfeel brings a body on the thinner side of medium with a moderate spritz of carbonation dispersing a tingly char easing to a soft, drying grit past the mid-palate; silkier textures into the back end find a boozy warmth, somewhat punchy into the finish.
A boozy, aged barleywine element melds into an underlying cocoa detail, capping the integrated flow between individual aspects of the blend while highlighting a distinctly spicy rye barrel influence throughout.

Dark brown pour, minimal head. A sippin' strong ale. Nicely blended, and with varying lengths of aging, really smooth with prodigious alcohol potency buried in the mix. Silky mouthfeel. A multi-faceted flavor set: dark fruit (plum), raisins, vanilla, caramel with subtle oakiness. Overall, it plays like a barleywine. Great choice as the leaves are falling.

Rated blind. Gift from the glorious @MacMalt in BIF #14. 750ml bottle poured into a tulip.
It is black with a very small, dense head. It looks thick and syrupy. It immediately exudes vanilla, booze, and chocolate aromas that make me think of bourbon barrels. Putting light behind it makes the "black" conclusion slightly doubtful, I could believe it's a super dark barleywine, especially combined with the dates/raisins I get in the aroma when I put it up to my sniffer. I do get some coffee and possibly some anise, but it doesn't smell particularly roasty, which seems odd for any beer this dark. I do get something fruity, maybe cherry or raspberry, but fairly slight.
Taste is moving back toward comfortable BA imperial stout range, but not all the way there. That lovely vanilla and oak, chocolate is light, coffee is a little stronger, more of the anise and less of the dates/raisins. Still boozy for sure, but not overwhelmingly so. Leaning on the sweet side.
Mouthfeel is of course very thick. It's almost chewy. It's very smooth, no chalky/gritty texture at all. Not very lively, but doesn't feel "still."
Very nice.

Poured from 25.4 oz. bottle into a Kane pint glass, It pours a very dark cola - nearly mahogany - with a generous, creamy, medium-mocha colored cap and lacing. It has a wonderful nose: raisin, fig, brown sugar, toffee, roasted malt, coffee, tobacco smoke, oak, and whiskey. The taste opens with considerable sweetness: lots of toffee and candied rain and plum. There is also dark chocolate which I didn't smell but absolutely taste. The rye whiskey is immediately discernible and compliments the other flavors without any distraction. It adds a subtle dryness that balances the fruit. There is also a pleasant spiciness at the finish - not quite Belgian but it adds to experience. The flavors blend seamlessly. This ale is delightfully creamy when swished in the mouth. The carbonation level is appropriate. It drinks its 12.1% ABV; sip it slowly. I'm enjoying it with a plate of sharp cheese and Wasa Brod. Kane's skill and craftsmanship is really displayed in this anniversary ale.

25.4 oz waxed bottle approximately one year old poured into a snifter at fridge temp and allowed to warm up to room temperature 12.1% ABV. The beer pours medium brown in color with little light penetration. The head is light brown and settles to a thin ring and single layer of bubbles. Just a few tiny spots of lacing. The aroma is mild sweet malt with accents of oak and whiskey. The taste is semisweet toffee, rich malt, mild oak, vanilla and spicy rye whiskey. The finish is mostly dry and just barely bitter. The mouthfeel is medium plus bodied with medium carbonation. No alcohol presence in the aroma or flavor. Overall, excellent. There's a craftsmanship and balance to this beer that's really impressive and hard (for me) to put into words. I would not pass on any of these anniversary offerings, given the opportunity.

This beer pours a dark brown color. 1 finger tan head. Head retention is about what's expected for such a high ABV beer. No lacing on the glass. All there is is a ring of the residual foam around the edge of the glass.
The nose is a rich and deep barrel aroma. Caramel, toffee, raisin, plum, vanilla and chocolate. Very pleasing.
Taste - The dark fruits are up front - raisin and plum. The caramel, toffee, vanilla and chocolate are more on the back side.
Thick and full bodied. No alcohol burn at all, though, you can tell it's strong.
Solid, and very delicious BA beer.

750mL bottle enjoyed on 5/16/20. Super-dark mahogany, approaching blackness. One finger of tan foam persists for a little while. Aromas of ripe dark fruits (fig, date, currant) dipped in chocolate. A bit of boozy oak with additional hints of vanilla. There's a bright, tart, fruity note as well.
Rich, fruity flavor profile that evolves rapidly through to the finish. Toffee and rum-raisin notes, and there's a tart, tannic character that counteracts the residual sugars -- it's not all that sweet at all, contrary to my expectations. Caramelized sugar and just a bit of booze on the finish. Barrel notes are fairly restrained, but they're present in the background. Mouthfeel is slightly sticky and syrupy, and the carbonation fades pretty quickly. Expertly crafted and highly enjoyable.

This is my second time cracking this beauty. This time aged about a year and a half. Boy is it still good. The rye really shines through. Another gem from the most underrated brewery out there!

A good strong beer but 2922 was so great that this was a little of a disappointment after trying that. Lots of brandy and port, dark malts, chocolate, and fruit.

Dark mahogany brown with a short but persistent creamy tan head settling to a curled collar.
Soft and velvety smooth, the medium-full body delivers delicate dark fruit character blended into melted milk chocolate with accents of walnut, brown sugar and toffee coming to a woody dry finish.
This year's anniversary blend is very complex, yet also easy drinking in a way that big BA blends often aren't. It's just so unbelievably soft, while the mature spicy rye and sherry-like flavors meld together so well.
