If you are interested in either the Kolsch or Saison beer styles there are two recent articles there for you to read.

    Cheers!

I was playing “spot the PE and bev conglomerate  sellouts” while I watched. I also noted a reference to “collaboration, not litigation” in the video description, which is a rich irony considering the trademark shenanigans:nauseated_face: Stone has recently engaged in.

I like good beer, not too concerned with who brews it. For the most part, I support the local breweries.

First of all, I apologize that my original post had a link to "We Are Brew Studs", which was taken over by some other operation and became an European wagering W-WW site.
I run my bookmark page URLs through a link checker. But that only tells you if its robot landed on the website. It does not inform you that the content now hosted there has changed.
It would not stun me if ZX Ventures, through another shell corporation, hired a bunch of hackers to DDoS "We Are Brew Studs" off the W-WW.
This is how I suspect ABiB's 'imposter' beers will be voted (by scores of new members) to the 'Top-Rated' beers in every category over at Rate Beer.
<satire> Which consumable item would you prefer I endeavor to obtain for you in order to cease your life force? </satire>
If Minhas was to close down, I would consider it a personal loss, perhaps equivalent to when I was trying to run an indoor soccer franchise with no funds.
I anguish that I could not save the Dubuque Star Brwy., which died on my watch. It sent beers to our Annual Beer Tasting at the United Soccer Boosters' Convention. They were contract beers. But the quality and care were perceptible.
Exactly. A closed brewery cannot brew a superb beer. It may devote much of its output to head-shaking-sideways beers. But as long as it operates, it can produce a superb, quality beer which will find favor, and sell, on the market. :beers:

My definition of craft beer... hmm...To quote the famous line from Justice Potter Stewart :

    That is all

Madon! Is this the Beer Advocate thread with the most frequent mention(s) of Aldi?
It seems to be. So I will post this reply here. I doubt this will be controversial, because I am merely scribing what I will do later today.
In | On the northwest side of Chicago, the Inside Shopper weekly advertising circulator delivered on Wednesday includes an ad for Aldi. You can sign up for this if you prefer virtual ads.
This week's Aldi ad has a listing for its "Beer Advent Calendar" ($49.99). For the money, you get seventeen 11.2-ounce bottles and seven 12-ounce bottles.
We can deduce the 11.2-oz. bottles are European brews. As for the 12-oz. bottles; that is a good question. Are these beers brewed at Aldi's seemingly preferred domestic brewery Octopi Brwg. in Wisconsin? Then also, where are these cases being compiled? Aldi's corporate U.S. headquarters are in Batavia, IL. (an exurban of Chicago in Kane County ~ where the Chicago, Aurora & Elgin electric railroad also used to run)
Earnestly, I am amazed nobody else has mentioned that this advent calendar is right down the boulevard {not Boulevard Brwg.} for Untappd tickers!
So later today (Monday the 8th), I am going to haul out the 1987 Chevrolet Sprint and drive to the Aldi at 4627 W. Diversey to buy one case (limit two). Oh yes, I will also avail myself of the Big Lots and Walmart stores across Diversey Ave. to see if they have anything bulky | heavy that I could not get back to the abode here on a Chicago Transit Authority vehicle.
I will report here what are the beers in the case.:beer:

Finally, to be a wiseacre {not Wiseacre Brwg.}; I feel like the 21st Century representative of the Charles Atlas advertisement you used to see in the back of 1967-1972 comic books. The one in which the protagonist had sand kicked in his face because he was a "weakling". But after procuring the Charles Atlas course, he built up his body to the point where nobody else on the beach would mess with him.
Until a couple of weeks ago, just about everybody on Beer Advocate was chortling at my posts (Pudgy - 52 kbps/sec: What a joke!).
Look at this Speedtest result. [IMG]
Now, I have muscled up to One Gigabyte Internet speed. Which surpasses the connection rate of the vast majority of those who have mocked me then.
Ha ha ha. I fart in your general direction. Or maybe actually kick sand in your faces.

You may want to call that Aldi store in advance - around here those Advent cases sell out quickly....and the 24 beers are mediocre at best - to me, not remotely worth the $50 asking price .....cheers!

"Not fizzy yellow beer" is not a good definition for craft, even today. Lots of craft brewers now produce mediocre fizzy yellow beers. In the 70s, McSorley's Ale, Augsburger and others were yellow but very good. Blitz Bavarian Dark Beer (by BlitzWeinhard in the 60s and 70s) was not yellow, but not good either. There were many other not-yellow beers at the time that were uninspiring.

O.K., I did it. beervikingsailor's word-to-the-wise was on-point. The Aldi @ 4627 W. Diversey Ave. sold out its allotment (7 cases). I queried the store manager if there were other Aldi stores in the neighborhood which still had it. She found two cases at the Aldi at 4030 W. Wrightwood Ave. This is one block from where I recycle the aluminum cans and two blocks from the Binny's Logan Square store.
I motored the 1987 Chevrolet Sprint over to there. Contemplating the other Aldi stores, this was one which could have been deduced to having leftovers. Other Aldis I have shopped or am familiar with are at Central & George, Fullerton & Grand [W. of Narragansett], or Belmont & Spaulding. But the latter is very close to the Blue Line "L" Belmont station, so it could get a lot of foot traffic. Still, it would be very difficult to carry home a case of bottled beer on a fairly full #77 Belmont or #82 Kimball-Homan bus.
The important data: Here are the beers in the case. ¹ = Belgium. Imported by Prestige Beverage Group; Princeton, MN.
² = Germany. Imported by Prestige Beverage Group; Princeton, MN.
³ = Ireland. Imported by Prestige Beverage Group; Princeton, MN. and Prestige Beverage Group; Mendota Heights, MN.
ª = U.S.A. Bottled by Prestige Beer Group; 1131 Uniek Dr.; Waunakee, WI. 53597
The U.S.A. beers were packaged at Oktopi Brwg. For some of them, this is their first time in bottles.
I will refer this BeerAdvocate post to The Beer Nut's weblog. He may have some tasting data on the Deadly Brwg. Co.'s ales.
